  • Are you looking for a wonderful vacation spot with beautiful mountain views, are you a pleasure seeker who enjoys hiking, white water rafting, or fly fishing, or do you just want to get away from it all? Whether planning a family vacation, a honeymoon or a long weekend getaway this is the place for you. AUTHENTIC LOG CABIN, 2 bedroom, 2 bath, sleeps 6 comfortably, centrally located in the heart of Avery County in Newland, North Carolina. We are close to all the High Country attractions, Grandfather Mountain, Beech and Sugar Mountain ski slopes, Banner Elk, Boone, Blowing Rock, Appalachian State University, Linville River Falls, not to mention the finest collection of public golf courses in the area. The single residence is located on a private road shared with only one other cabin, in a secluded mountain with breath taking views.

    From the outside the cabin looks very old, the structure was built from 10x10 logs salvaged from antique homes. On the inside, the cabin is equipped with all the modern conveniences. Washer and dryer, refrigerator with ice maker, dishwasher, microwave, glass top stove with oven are all provided. Kitchen is fully equipped with dishes, silverware, pot and pans, crock pot and coffee maker.

    The master bedroom loft has a king size bed and a full bath that features an old fashion claw foot tub. The downstairs bedroom has two twin beds that can be pushed together. The living room has a sleeper sofa. All linens and towels are provided. Fire Pit and chairs and charcoal grill outside.

The cabin was exactly as described. Cozy, comfortable and well equippef. It was a beautiful retreat away from the hustle and bustle of town life. It was very clean(except for the few bugs that liked the cabin life too). We had rain the entire trip, but the fire place helped warm our bones. The driveway up to the cabin was a little unnerving, but on par for the area and we soon mastered it. We brought our 2 dogs, and they loved wondering the mountain side.

Real log cabin with a fire pit was a hit with the young (10 and 6) grandkids as well as the mountain setting. The cabin is well furnished.

Tranquil Get-Away

We enjoyed our stay at the cabin. It was perfect for a family of four. It is in a secluded area providing so much relaxation and peace, but still close enough to the towns in the area.

Enjoyed the star gazing, fire pit and the location being up near top of a ridge. Well built and designed cabin. Enjoyed the stay. Kids loved it (almost 5 and 6).

Labor Day weekend mountain get away

Had a great time visiting Grandfathers Mountain, Linville Falls and Blowing Rock. The cabin was comfortable, clean and a great peaceful place to come back to after a long day!

Solitude and beautiful cabin

Centrally located to all state parks we wanted to visit (and a couple other waterfalls/areas we hadn’t planned on) Owner, Debbie, was very helpful. Cabin well furnished, will definitely book again when we venture back to the area.

Great Getaway

Our family had a fantastic stay in the heart of the mountains. The cabin was just as described…the only problem was that we couldn’t stay longer! We look forward to returning for another stay in the future.

Beautiful, peaceful cabin

This was our second stay at this beautiful log cabin— peaceful, well-kept grounds, comfortable, cozy, and very clean. This cabin has everything you need for a wonderful stay. The view from the porch is gorgeous. We love to sit there on the rocking chairs with a glass of wine.

Beautiful and quite spot tucked away.

Perfect little cabin with everything needed included. Lots of wild life and close to some awesome waterfalls and hiking. I would stay again. The WI-FI was intermittent but pretty normal for the area.

anniversary getaway

We wanted to get away for a few days to hike and read and chill and this was a very good spot for us. Convenient for our hiking and comfortable. Thanks for letting us have it for several days.

Quite with nice mountain view.

Great experience with cozy cabin. Over 20 Deer sightings around the cabin. Nice mountain view, owners were great and easy to communicate with. A memorable stay, we're likely to return. Good hub for Grandfather Mountain, Blowing Rock, Boone, etc. Newland shopping not far from cabin.

One of the owners came to greet us shortly after we arrived. Both owners were friendly and very accommodating, explained and showed us how to work the heating and other details. The view was amazing. The bathtub upstairs was relaxing. Loved that there was a fireplace inside as well as a fire pit outside. We went hiking beside the cabin, and all our siteseeing destinations werent too far away. I absolutely loved leaving a note of our stay in the guestbook. Cant wait to come back again. Places like this are truly hard to find. You wont want to leave!
