On arrival we found the aircon was broken, which we reported to the 'host' who informed us she knew it was broken, but would not be repaired until the day we left! They knew before we arrived!The whole apartment was dirty, with mould in the bathroom, & 'gunge' on the floor where parquet flooring was missing. We booked through VRBO, but the 'host' refused to communicate via their app as is required, only by personal email. She was rude & eventually very aggressive by email, & we never met her as she sent an unfriendly 'friend' to let us in & take the keys when we left.The photographs of the apartment are old, the balcony did not have wooden table, but a rotting round mdf one, with at least 3/4 of the chairs broken & unsafe, with cigarette burns on them. The balcony blind was ripped & unusable. The sofa in the lounge was stained & covered with a throw. The washing machine did not work properly & some of the washing was still dry in places after 2 washes. There were no drying facilities. The towel rail in the bathroom had loose wiring & worked very intermittently. The wardrobes contained dirty old rugs & rubbish. The bedding & towels which we paid for, were very old & poor quality, & did not fit the bed. These were the main issues, there were more less important!We complained to VRBO, who were extremely helpful, & offered us compensation to move to another apartment, but there was nowhere suitable locally. Book & Pay gave us a fairish refund when we arrived home
