The biggest issue with this rental was the complete lack of communication from the host, Veronica. A few days before arrival, I received an email from Blue Aruba Rentals stating that I would receive check‑in instructions directly from the host. That email never came. On the morning of my arrival, I emailed Veronica at 7 AM from the airport asking for check‑in details. I never received a response, not that day, not during the stay, not afterward. Sitting on the plane to a foreign country with no confirmation and no way to reach the host caused a tremendous amount of anxiety. I even looked up VRBO’s emergency contact process in case we landed and had nowhere to stay. No traveler should have to experience that level of uncertainty. When we finally arrived, we learned the condo is not actually hosted by Veronica at all, it’s managed by the condo facility. A female staff member with very short hair (bluish) checked us in and was visibly annoyed when I asked a clarifying question. The interaction felt rushed and rude, which was disappointing after such a stressful arrival.A Persistent mildew/curry smell: The unit had a noticeable odor from the moment we walked in. We used two air purifiers in the unit, both were clogged with lint and clearly not maintained. Ironically, we both felt congested by the end of our stay. The air duct in the master bathroom rattled loudly enough to wake me up repeatedly. There was only one hook in the master bathroom, which made it inconvenient for two.
