Sweet spot

Tom is great guy and knows everything about surrounding area, the walk to the beach through the jungle is epic, the pool was a savior for the kids and us. The house is right in the action so know that. Awesome host and sweet land.

A Little Piece of Paradise

I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Casa Libelula. Tom was beyond helpful even before arriving. Unfortunately, he had to travel back to the states before we departed, so we didn’t get to say goodbye to him. It was everything as listed and more.! It was perfect for my family, even if there were a few hiccups. I couldn’t answer about the check-in process because my flight was delayed and I didn’t get to meet Tom for 2 days. The house had everything we needed! I really absolutely loved the private pool! Wish I was there again! I would love to go back and spend more time there, but the house is up for sale, so not sure how the new owners will be? I think it’s going to be hard to top Tom’s hospitality! Everyone knows Tom, even the Customs officials! If Tom is still the property owner, then I know you’re in good hands! May the new owners be as good as Tom, because I really want to go back and unplug from the grind! It was totally perfect for that!

Great location, great house, great host!

So grateful for choosing to stay at this house! The list of awesomeness is long… The location was perfect for our group. Two families, 4 adults, 5 kids (ages 13 to 7) The private trail to the beach was dreamy and extremely convenient. A short walk threw the rainforest and boom! You arrive at the breath taking beach. Where we spent hours surfing, playing, and relaxing. Sunsets are peaceful and invigorating! The property is in town, close to almost everything. Although it doesn’t feel so because it’s surrounded by lush tropical garden and rainforest! The private pool area is very nice, slightly disconnected from the house which we loved. Ok, so it couldn’t get any better but it does… Tom our host is amazing! He is easy to connect and communicate with! Anything and everything we asked for he promptly helped ! He is very in tune to respecting his guests space and privacy. So with all the greatness this property has to offer, the only thing that I could see someone complaining about is that some parts of the house are dated. But honestly, it didn’t matter!!!!! We ALL loved it! Definitely would do it all over again with no change! Pura Vita

Perfect vacation! Perfect location!

This property was perfect for our family of four. There was more than enough space for privacy, the pool and gardens were lovely, and great restaurants and surf shops were a short walking distance away. The best part was an adjacent path that led though the jungle to the beach for surfing and sunset viewing- the path also led to La Luna maybe just 10 minutes away. We highly recommend this property. The host was more than amenable to our needs- he answered my many questions about Covid, stocked the fridge for our arrival, and even borrowed us tools when we needed them. Thank you!

Best trip ever and perfect location

Perfect vacation to relax, have fun and walk wherever we need to go during our week stay. Private path to the beach, mini market with most of what you need, private pool and check in that was as easy as it gets with an attentive owner/manager that checks in to make sure all is good. Close to the beach

One of if not the closest beach properties. Walking path to the beach, monkeys love the trees all around the house. Pool isn't in viewing distance from the house, but there is covered seating to hang out and watch the kids swim.

Beautiful House In Paradise

Casa Libelula is a stunning home just a short walk to beautiful beaches as well as shopping and restaurants. Tom is a wonderful host - he was informative and there if you needed anything. The home had many added thoughtful touches. During the day we took long walks along the beach, swam in the warm ocean, or walked nearby nature trails. Each evening we walked to see the beautiful sunsets and enjoy local food. At night we were greeted by the sounds of the Howler Monkeys and other "jungle" noises. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Casa Libelula. Thank you - Tom.... Pura Vida

Great house in a great location

House is very private and close to town and a short walk from good restaurants. Check out Argentinian Grill, Luv Burger, Burgers and Beers as well as the Soda that are 3 min.s away. A bit further for La Luna, Al Chile, El.Chivo. Mini Mart close by for breakfast fixings. Beach is 5 min.s walk, and has great waves for starting surfers. Tom is friendly, gives great advice on request, and is responsive to any needs around house. Overall great eperience!

Amazing Costa Rican Christmas

Our family spent 12 fantastic nights at Casa Libelula over the Christmas holidays. The home slept 8 adults comfortably, the location cannot be beat and Tom is a gracious and accommodating host. The photos do not do the property justice. The beach, trails through the jungle, coffee shops, great restaurants, bars, stores and surf shops are all within a short walk. We spent hours sitting around the beautiful pool being entertained by howler monkeys. Playa Guiones is a chill and family-oriented little slice of paradise. We loved the people, the food, the nature and the atmosphere and nothing beats a sunset surf with your family. If you want an authentic Costa Rican surf holiday or just want to relax and unplug surrounded by nature, this is the place. We will be back.

Costa Rican Paradise

An amazing location! A wonderful house surrounded by a beautiful jungle setting complete with Howlers, coati, butterflies, all kinds of birds, lizards, to name a few. And all of this within easy walking distance to an awesome surf break. There is a surf club next door where you can rent boards and switch them out whenever you want. Within walking distance are multiple restaurants and a small grocery store that is great for items you may have forgotten at the big grocery which is about a ten minute drive from the house. We all had a great stay and I would definitely return in a heartbeat!

WOW best location ever

We just returned from an amazing week at Tom's house. We had never been to Costa Rica before and wanted something a little different for our family vacation. Tom was very responsive to my questions and even connected us to a great guide who took us horseback riding on the beach twice! The house is very spacious, all bedrooms have A/C so you can cool off if needed. House felt secure and has a good space for locking up valuables. Also had security guard who patrolled periodically at night. The security part took some getting used to but it's the norm for the area. Wifi worked really well. We had breakfast at the house but ate out the rest of the time. Kitchen had everything you need for cooking, we just didn't feel like it! Monkeys visited property every day. Pool was fine for cooling off though we mostly swam at the beach. The location is perfect for going back and forth to the beach - you can get to the beach via a short trail through the jungle in about 2 minutes. Multiple excellent restaurants and mini-market literally right out the door. We ended up renting a golf cart to go slightly farther afield with the kids (to the other side of Nosara basically). That was really fun. Nosara is a very special place that we will visit again one day!

Fantastico!!!

Pictures do not do this home and property justice! Beautiful, clean, and comfortable. This custom built home compliments surrounding natural beauty of the land. The location is a mix of both jungle and beach with the ease of many nearby great restaurants, shops, and rental companies. All within walking distance. Tom the owner was such a gracious and generous host. Our family has used vacation home rentals for many many years and we have never experienced a host who was so generous with his time. He went above and beyond helping to make our stay fantastic. Many thanks Tom!

Amazing house and grounds

Absolutely beautiful home with everything we needed. Excellent location to beach, restaurants, and yoga. Using the private pool at the end of the day was the perfect way to relax. Tom helped us set up local surfing and fishing excursions. He was a great host!

Love this place!

We had a great time in Playa Giuones! Sunshine and waves all day. Me and four friends stayed at Casa Libelula at it was great. Lots of room for everyone to chill inside and out. Great pool area to relax and jungle all around. You can walk to everything you need from here. A dozen restaurants, groceries, rent your boards or your bikes. Tom can give you all the info you need. Thanks Tom! There's a private path out to the ocean and its glorious! Great spot, North Giuones we'll be back. We love this place!

Wonderful house in a great location

This was our family’s second visit to Playa Guiones and second stay at Tom’s house. We absolutely love the house, the pool and the location. We had 4 adults and 5 teenage children, and we had plenty of room to relax. There is a great jungle path from the house to the beach that takes about 3 minutes to walk. Additionally, there are numerous cafes and restaurants within walking distance. Tom is a great host and was available for all of our needs.

Beautiful home in a great location.

The house is fantastic, with everything you need. The pool and grounds are beautiful, and it's a three minute walk to the beach on a private trail. The house is right in the centre of the action, with restaurants and shops just steps away, but it still feels private and secluded, and we were never bothered by noise. Tom is an amazing host and made everything easy. Highly recommended.

Location location location

Couldn’t be more convenient. Walk to the beach, walk to yoga class, walk to 8 different restaurants within 100 yds of the house. Urban living in the jungle! Tom was great and solved any issues ASAP. Can’t wait to visit again.

Great place, even better host

I stayed at this home with my 3 mid-20s sons and one friend of theirs, for a week in mid-July of 2018. Our objective was to surf, relax, and explore a bit of the area. This house served us very well. But even more importantly, Tom (the host) was amazing. He helped arrange transportation to and from Playa Guiones, gave good advice on where to (1) rent surfboards, (2) get lessons, (3) get meals, and anything else I could think of. He even took us to the grocery store and ATM in Nosara when he went. Tom's attitude was excellent, and he lives next door so is usually available. In sum, the house was well-suited for our needs and Tom was the perfect host. I have stayed at a number of VRBO and Airbnb homes, and Tom is by far the best host I have ever met. The house has plenty of room with a full kitchen (with pans, dishes, and silverware), washer and dryer, and lots of tables and chairs. There are 4 bedrooms (one with 2 beds) and an extra bed in an upstairs area away from everything else. There is air-conditioning in each bedroom,but not the entire house. We used it when we went to bed. There are 2 bathrooms, both with showers, and there are also showers outside that you can use if coming from the beach. The location is great, toward the north end of the beach about a 200-yard walk to the water (note that houses cannot be built on the beach here, so this is about as close as they get). There are at least 3 restaurants within 100 yards of the house, and more close by. The crowds seemed a little smaller on our (the north)end of the beach, and the waves were at least as good ass those further south. In addition to surfing, we did the zipline (better than others I have been on), the escape room (comparable to those in SF and importantly - air conditioned!), and walked around the nearby area. We did not rent any transportation, and did not feel that we needed it. It rained twice, both times for a few hours in the late afternoon (with plenty of lightening and thunder). The temperature was warm and humid, but not overwhelming. We did get bitten by mosquitoes a little, but once we started using either Avon Skin So Soft (pretty effective) or 30% Deet (100% effective) we were okay. Overall our visit was everything I hoped for and I hope that we will be able to do it again.
