At first glance we were really excited. Great location, great view, wide open kitchen and living area. Arrived about 5pm started putting things away in the kitchen and started seeing roaches. Kristeen was very helpful but couldn’t find anything else for us. Spent two more nights in 3 hotel rooms.

This house was a great location with stunning views of the Harbor. The kitchen pots & pans could use updating, but there are plenty of fantastic places to eat on the Island, so if you don't cook, it's no problem. Beds were comfortable & the house is clean. I would stay here again.

This house was so comfy and spacious. My family and I loved it so much. Such a nice, open floor plan, comfy beds, nice bathrooms, clean, able to have our fur babies with us with fenced-in yard, massive kitchen, great laundry room, operational fire place, quiet neighborhood with peaceful views, bunny rabbits hopping around, and great amenities. My 2 minor complaints are… there could be more seating in the living room. We have 5 ppl in our family and the couch was nice but very crowded, or we were sitting on the floor. And, since this place is pet-friendly, it really could use some lights in the backyard. It was pitch-black during the evening/night hours and it would’ve been nice to have some lights to keep an eye on the dogs while they were out. But even with those minor issues, we loved the place, the owner was extremely communicative and friendly, and we would definitely stay again.

This was the perfect place for my two sisters and me to stay for a short trip to Whidbey Island! It was convenient to Oak Harbor and very comfortable with everthing we needed. Would definitely stay again!

The kitchen has nice appliances and a lot of room. The house was very clean and comfortable, with enough towels/blankets and a decent selection of kitchen implements for a short term rental. Our dogs enjoyed the yard and spacious rooms. The bathtub and shower are very spacious and 2 1/2 bathrooms made things a lot easier for our family.If I had suggestions for the host, maybe add an additional chair to the living room and get a stainless steel skillet instead of nonstick to stand up to the demands of short term guests :). Lovely stay, lovely property overall, made our vacation comfortable and restful.

Our stay was wonderful. House was clean and spacious. View was fantastic. Kitchen provided everything we needed to create family dinner. We were very pleased with our stay at the Balda Getaway. I would absolutely stay here again.

Stunning View

This is a large, spacious home with an incredible view of the Puget Sound. The host provided a nice coffee station in the kitchen. There are nice showers with good water pressure. The house is quiet and located not too far from town. It was a good "home base" for us while we explored the island.

Great view poor host

Started our stay by having to wait at IHOP for several hours before receiving communication from the host for the code to get. Arrived to find a complete bed frame laying against the side of the home. After checking in we were notified that they would be sending a company over to spray for bedbugs. This would explain the reason for the bed frame being left outside. My parents refused to stay in the home due to there concern over the issue. The property knew prior to our stay and didn’t notify us. Obviously, we would have canceled. The pest control service explained that they did have to spray for bedbugs, after the owners said they did not. I felt they were very dishonest and put their profit before our comfort and safety. Disappointing stay because it is a cute home with a great view. We have never had such a poor experience and would not trust staying at a property they manage in the future.

We had such a wonderful stay here! It was the perfect place to get together with friends and family while we were visiting. The best part was the view, spacious home with a great layout, very accessible to a ton of fun activities. We had a minor issue upon arrival that was quickly resolved by the couple that manage the property. There are so many windows to enjoy the amazing views but it does get warm inside in the summer. We really appreciated all the fans they provided. Kitchen is well stocked, we would love to come back and visit again!

Great location

We loved our stay on Whidbey Island, this location is right outside Oak harbor very accessible to Coupeville and the fabulous Fort Ebey. Safeway just 2mins away. Quiet neighborhood - look for the owl if you're up early, we took three teens with us and had plenty of room. Very quick responses from management. Highly recommend.

Roomy peaceful place. We all enjoyed it. Suggestions: more glassware; plastic glasses for kids, wine glasses, beer glasses etc. Also dressers in the bedrooms would be helpful.
