The house was nicely decorated and the rooms were as described, with one important exception. There is a nice, large living room with a foosball table, tv, and games, but it was totally unusable during our stay (January) as the heat is essentially non functional in that room. Just to keep the kitchen and dining room somewhat comfortable, we had to keep that room shut off. That made for less usable space during the stay, which was a shame. That room would benefit greatly from a mini split, or a space heater. There is no fireplace in the house, and it was also a bit cold on the main level. Upstairs was warm, by comparison. House was clean, but it's in the woods, so there were some signs/sounds of rodents (somewhat expected) and attempt to bate them. Very close to Swallow Falls and Herrington Manor state parks.

I'm not sure if the problem is with the host or Vacasa or both. The cabin is adorable. I have property in the area and am familiar with the terrain and weather. The cabin only has forced air so when power goes out, which it frequently does there is no other heat source like a fireplace for light and heat which is a problem when it is 16 degrees out. Notifying Vacasa as instructed did nothing. The dryer did not work and Vacasa indicated that they would not be fixing it which was a problem when children are sledding and playing in the snow and wet clothes need dried. Upon chekcing the dryer I found that it just vents backi nto the room. Not safe. The tub did not shut off all the way and the water pressure was poor. I communicated this to Vacasa as the power had been going off and on. They were unconcerned. We could not stay at this property for almost half the nights due to power outages. This became a very expensive trip and Vacasa, who you are forced to deal with even though you rented through VRBO, could care less. This cabin was a miss and a disappointment.

Memorial Day weekend

The property overall was clean and accurate to the listing. However the hot tub and outdoor deck area was very lacking. I would not book this property if you are specifically looking for a hot tub. When we arrived the hot tub was 67 degrees and did not get up to temperature or maintain a reasonable temp to use.

Property Management Company

Unfortunately, we were not able to stay on the property due to an emergency. We were hospitalized and had paperwork to prove it. I tried to contact Vacasa and they denied me every time. The only time they reached out was after the owner contacted them saying he was worried he saw no one check into the property. The General Manager of Vacasa left me a voicemail expressing the concern of the owner and said he wanted to work with me on getting some money back, which I was grateful for at the time. I tried 6 times to reach Rich (General Manager) after that voicemail. I finally caught him on a call and he promised me a refund of the fees and a discount for rebooking the cabin again. I never received a refund or further communication.

Cleanliness was less than subpar

I booked this cabin with my family and was very disappointed with the cleanliness. When we got there, the beds were dirty and covered in hair. Before we were able to sleep, we had to wash all the sheets in the small, ill equipped washer and dryer. It took hours before we were able to go to bed after driving for 4 hours. Thankfully I brought detergent. We also had to clean the bathrooms before being able to use them. We ended up leaving a day early because truthfully, we didn’t want to have to continue to do laundry on our vacation. The cabin itself was beautiful but having to clean really ruined the experience.

Woodsy way cabin stay

over all, we enjoyed our stay. The cabin was cozy. there were a couple issues that we experienced during our stay and we arrived. Living room TV was out of resolution and we couldn’t watch anything, we tried to fix it but somehow we were unable to. also it’s best for the key to be placed by the gate instead of the office almost half an hour away, I found this a bit inconvenient.

Loved it!!

I went for my bachelorette weekend with 6 of my best friends and we absolutely loved it. The place was beautiful and had so much to offer. We enjoyed the hot tub and spending time around the camp fire. Definitely a great place to stay and would recommend to family and friends!!

Secluded paradise

A secluded cabin that is dog friendly and with a hot tub. Just what we needed. Convenient to Swallow falls but about a 20minute drive to Deep Creek Lake. Check in process a little confusing because the key fab is in a lockbox at the Vacasa Office (about 20 mins away from the cabin).
