Weekend Getaway

This place is great for a quiet escape. There's a peaceful vibe here, with a nice restaurant and bar just a mile away that you can easily walk to.

Great location! We took our pontoon boat and put it in at the state park. It was about a 15 minute ride to the house dock. Very quiet neighborhood. House was very clean and had everything we needed except matches for the campfire- no big deal. It was a very cute and cozy house and we did find the bear. Thanks! :)

Perfect Location

The location is incredible. The outside amenities make the perfect, relaxing lake vacation. The house was ok, a little small for a family of 6. Definitely needs some updating but the lake makes up for anything the house is lacking.

Clean, cute & peaceful

We loved it. Clean and well decorated. Peaceful setting on beautiful deep creek where we enjoyed the kayak & canoe. We rented life jackets from a nearby business. Kitchen was very well equipped and the view of the lake from the house was enjoyed by all.

Great location - lake-front in no-wake zone of DCL with canoe & kayak to use. House was well-appointed, new additions to home were very nice. Beds were comfortable & house was very clean. Great communication with rental agency. However, although house comes with margarita-maker, there is no ice-maker or ice trays to make ice. Original bathrooms are very small & master shower was very difficult to use because of it’s tiny size- not a deal-breaker for us. Home also needs emergency supplies like flashlight. The few battery-operated candles had dead batteries. We paid a lot more to rent a house on the lake, and were surprised to see more charges added for linens and hot tub cleaning. I would have thought they would have been incorporated into base rental price. Overall a positive experience with details noted being the difference between very good & excellent!

explained before I booked this house my wife has a balance problem she is in a wheelchair most of the time, the bedroom had a dropped floor couldn't get her and wheel up over 4in. threshold very difficult to get her into the living room then had to fight to get the wheelchair into the kitchen it was a sunk drop into the kitchen requested one story level home on the lake other than that we enjoyed the view once I could get her into the front of the house. We brought an electric scooter to get to fire pit & lake.

Very relaxing

It's a really nice area, very quiet and the house is cute. It's like you're in the middle of nowhere, but have stores, restaurants and activities all within a short drive. The only thing is that I recommend taking screen shots of all the details about the property (door code, wifi password, etc.) before you get there because there is no signal. Plus at one point I changed my mind about going to one place before the other and trying to change that on my GPS was a nightmare because nothing was coming up. No addresses, no maps, nothing. I ended up driving back to the house for the wifi just so I could look up the directions. None of that is the hosts fault obviously, I'm just making a suggestion for future guests. We would come back again!

Lake Fun

The house was cozy. We had 6 people. Two adults and 4 teens. The bathrooms were very small and there was a mildew smell that we couldn't get rid of. The house itself was in a GREAT location with the lake right in front of the house. The house was decorated in a really cute cottage theme. The house was equipped with all the necessities you need. They even provided a few snacks and a surprise which was really nice! We did not get to use the canoe or kayak as they were up on the hill behind a barn. It would have been nice if the canoe and kayak were down near the lake for easy access. We loved the hot tub! The firepit and lights added to the FUN at the lake. It would have been nice if the grass was cut. We did have GREAT time at the house as it was a great location and the beds were comfy. It would be nice if there were ceiling fans as it did get hot. The house was clean and we would definately come back.

we told the girl that did the booking my wife was in a wheelchair-\we expressed no stairs or step-downs. sister-in-law was also sick with debilitating sickness. there was a large step to get out of the bedroom as well as a larger step into the living room and kitchen, could not use the bathrooms because of the wheelchair, and my wife fell in the living room trying to go into the family room with a bruised hip and arm badly .very very difficult to use bathrooms, she had knee surgery replacement last month, results in extreme from falling. Had to help lift her and squeeze her into bathroom.the worst vacation and the most expensive we have ever encountered. Tried to do something nice for my wife & sister law this is what I got!!!!! Will never use your website or agency again. Call us at 304-265-1173 if you care at all will go into further detail.

Quick weekend getaway

This is a really cute property. The quaintness and pictures of the decor is why I picked it despite being able to get a larger rental for less money. It was for the most part pretty clean. The layout was a little awkward. The front door entrance is in the master bedroom with the door being right next to the bed. The bathrooms were nicely decorated but had very little room to navigate in. The guest bathroom we did not use because the tub faucet handle was very loose and we didn’t want to damage it. My kids were super excited to use the hot tub in the snow but once they got in, they quickly got out. It smelled gross, had an orange scummy ring in it, and when the jets were turned in yellow/orange bubble came out. We were supposed to check out Monday morning but on there were blizzard warning in place. I received a text from the property management company stating that if we would like to stay an extra night it would be 50% off. I thought that was great but we couldn’t stay an extra night due the my kids having school on Tuesday. We decided to check out on a Sunday and I messaged the management company asking if they would be willing to credit us a little bit of money back since we were checking out early but they said “no”. Again it’s a super cute property and I’m sure beautiful during the spring and summer but for the price we likely wouldn’t choose this property again.

Outside could use some updates, but inside was clean, functional, and well equipped. Hot tub was fully functional. Fireplace and fire pit were nice. Perfect for our weekend getaway.
