The black Yurt

The Black Yurt is situated within Oakura. The surf beach, a number of cafes/restaurants, a pharmacy and a convenience store are within walking distance. Several hiking trails can be found nearby.

Accessible via a private staircase, this yurt offers you a comfortable king-size bed, lounge area and kitchenette. The bath and shower are outdoors. A separate small building contains the toilet.

The space
This out-of-the-ordinary space is situated on a spacious deck, placed among trees and adjoining a small stream.

The yurt feels cozy and is a beautiful place to unwind. Additionally to the king-size bed, there’s a queen-size futon mattress that can be rolled out on the floor to accommodate a maximum of two children. Please request the futon when traveling with children.

The dome can be opened and the windows rolled up for a great indoor/outdoor flow and stargazing at night. It is insulated and has a heat pump for heating/cooling.

The kitchenette offers coffee and tea equipment as well as a toaster and small bar fridge. For additional cooking needs, there is a fire-pit grill as well as a gas bbq available outside. The setup is not suitable for big food preparation. We encourage our guests to check out the local cafes and restaurants.

A bath and shower can be enjoyed under the open sky. The toilet house is accessible under a roof and houses a hand basin and toilet.

Guest access
Please park your car in the designated area and descend the private staircase to the yurt. The deck is all yours and we are planning to extend the outdoor area further in future.
