We stayed here for three nights at the end of March ‘26. The home is beautifully decorated, very spacious, and the check-in process was seamless. Sunset Island is a great community—the staff at the community center were friendly, and the indoor pool was large and very clean (though the chlorine was quite strong and burned our eyes). It was also relatively quiet during our stay.Unfortunately, the condition of the home did not match expectations. The fire alarm in the master bedroom had a low battery and chirped loudly throughout our stay, including overnight. Several doorknobs were loose or not functioning properly, with some barely attached. The hallway bathroom toilet did not flush properly and required multiple flushes to avoid overflow, and the only plunger was located downstairs. In the kitchen, the refrigerator water and ice were unusable due to taste/cleanliness. Cooking utensils were in poor condition, one dining chair was broken, and dish soap was not provided as listed. Overall cleanliness could have been improved—there were water spots on glass cabinets and in the master shower, and residue was left inside the refrigerator. HVAC filters appeared very dirty, and the garage needed general cleanup. The iron provided was also very dirty.Communication with the property manager was good before and during our stay, but we did not receive a response after reaching out with these concerns afterward.Overall, this is a beautiful home, but it did not feel guest ready.
