Upon arriving, we soon discovered that it was unlikely the place had been cleaned since last users. There were dirty towels hanging on back of a bedroom door; food caked on counters, tables, and refrigerator; and one bed appeared to have slept-in sheets still on it. The freezer was overfilled with ice on one side and rust on the other side. The coffeemaker had thick green grease on the top, and the carafe had water with floating grounds. The burners were also covered with grease and uneven. Fortunately, we had brought our own griddle, utensils, and plates, so we were able to avoid using their appliances. On the plus side, there are numerous close restaurants. The floors and rugs had not been vacuumed as evidenced by many footprints and dirt. The outside shower on the first deck had caked-on sand which required us hand scrubbing to clean it for our use. The deck and stairs to the beach have a broken banister; multiple railings are broken or loose; plus, the boards are very splintered, so wear shoes at all times! The stairs both inside and outside were challenging for us so beware if elderly or very young. There are multiple levels of outdoor decks with spectacular views. The TV had a thick covering of dust across frame and base. There was unkept clutter and a mix of items, products, and food left by past visitors. We strongly advise to not use any of the spices that lay caked together in the glass jars. The bathrooms however appeared somewhat clean despite being highly outdated. There were many items that needed repair. One lamp on main floor had a broken switch, so we had to unplug and plug it in to use it as the lighting in the living room was very dim otherwise. Another bedroom lamp had a torn shade and was thick with dust. The back door latch is broken; there is a note stating the part is unavailable, so use a stick in doorframe to keep it locked. The framing around door is broken as is the screen. There is an array of various chairs including one with a broken leg. There is also a broken beach chair on the deck. The second-floor shower warns to avoid using the faucet on one side as there is a leaky pipe in the wall. We avoided using the drawers on the bedrooms as many lacked knobs or again were dirty, so we lived out of our suitcases for the week. Most concerning is black mold coming out of many of the vents. While Vacasa rep did respond after multiple communications, the cleaning service never returned as requested.
