Surprise 70th Birthday get-away for my husband

We stay in this beautiful home. It has all the amenities and more! Incredible view all day long and the sunsets were just amazing. I hope to come back and stay here again!! This place has luxurious upgrades for all to enjoy.

Incredible view and beautiful house!

What an incredible view!! It’s worth the trek up the mountain to see that sunset and view. The house is clean, comfortable, up to date and beautiful. Would absolutely stay here again. The only negative is it’s very sparse and doesn’t have a lot of kitchen items, etc. It’s obvious nobody stays there frequently

Family friendly

The view was spectacular, there are some deck chairs and we loved the place. The kitchen was decently equipped but better for pre prepped food. Take tea and coffee, none there. We also experienced the sulfur smelling water although it was not too severe. Beds were comfortable, We would definitely book again.

Beautiful views

Beautiful views in very quiet mountain top. The road up is very windy ( only 4 miles of it) so I reccomend being home before dark. Its 20 minutes from the ferry. The home is gorgeous comfy beds, well stocked kitchen utensils. Bring your coffee and condiments. Coffee on the deck in the morning with the birds was amazing. Dont miss the sunrise and sunsets.

Mountain Views of the Ocean

The house has spectacular views of the ocean from floor to ceiling windows in the kitchen, living room and master bedroom; and from the wrap-around deck. Stunning. Sunsets from the deck. A great get-away. The drive to the house is only 15 minutes from East Sound. However, it is a small mountain road - very winding and steep (gets interesting in the dark). Plenty of parking adjacent to the house.

Above the clouds and away from it all

What an amazing home. Situated very high on Buck Mountain, this property has stunning views to the north. The expansive windows, and deck make sure you are saturated in the beauty of the San Juan Islands. It was an excellent setting for an intimate dinner with my now fiancee, and allowed us to get away from it all. The home was very clean, comfortable and had nice amenities that made you feel right at home. The bed was very comfortable and the view from the tub was amazing. We will be back again!!!

Orcas Island

The house was located on a very long and winding road. The view was great when it was clear. There were a few minor problems. The secondary bathroom blind didn't close but then there was no one even near the location. I was told that was repaired We enjoyed the stay . There was a loft which we didn't use. The house felt empty although there was enough furniture. It just wasn't very homey.

Lovely views, but/and...

Definitely stay here for the views. Aside from that, it is clear the owner never stays here... Furnishings are sparse and the house feels very empty. Sleeping arrangements are not as in the listing: 2nd bedroom has only queen size Murphy bed (no twin) and loft has full size futon (but no shades for the big windows, lots of am light). Someone also loves their label maker and put lots of labels with directives on everything. And side note for fellow EV owners: there's no capacity for charging at the house and getting up to the house will drain lots of battery!

The most amazing view

The house was just as pictured. Clean, well stocked, and large enough for our multigenerational group. Beds were comfortable! I don’t have the words to describe the view, other than WOW! The first time up the mountain to the house was attention getting, narrow surface treated winding roads (you know the check your own tailgate turns) had us traveling cautiously, Buck Mountain is a good road, and we had no issues. then we made an error coming back to town and turned the wrong way and toke Eagles Ridge Road… that blessed our heart.. just go SLOW! Our biggest stressor in visiting Orcas is the Ferry system. Having made plans months in advance, but not being able to secure tickets was horrible. this process almost ended our trip before it even started.

The property was very isolated and inaccessible. We arrived late in the evening and had hard time locating the house. While a wonderful property, it was not what we were looking for. Its location so far from any expected venues for food, essentials and other expected amenities forced us to cut our stay there short to only one night. It was very disappointing.

Beautiful home with some Issues to know about

We loved pretty much everything about this property except that bedroom window coverings were mostly missing! While not a privacy issue since the home is very remote, it was an issue in terms of light and just feeling more comfortable closing blinds at night (just in case). So, if you are up with the sun and a lot of light coming into the bedroom is not an issue for you, there is no concern. It was hard for me so I had to sleep under an umbrella that we brought (thank goodness). The biggest issue was the horrible smell of the water all throughout the house. It was a scent of rotten eggs (my husband knew what it was) and, while Vacasa was very responsive and sent a team to the house, there was nothing they could do about it. Apparently, at certain times of the year, this happens so be sure that it is not an issue when you are traveling. The person who I communicated with from Vacasa about all of this was excellent and, even though we were disappointed by this, she did her best to be responsive all the way through. Due to this, I would rent with Vacasa again. She was spectacular!!

Great view! Even better memories!

We loved the view the most, the house was clean and had everything we needed. I recommend to the owner to get a new mattress for the 2nd bedroom, because that was not comfortable at all. Also, the tap/shower water was terrible, smelled terrible and reminded me of Mexico tap water. I recommend to bring water bottles to brush your teeth. The master bedroom was the best, and the loft was amazing. The telescope didn’t work, and it would have been nice to have more chairs on the deck. The 12 minute winding road up the mountain was not easy to go back and forth on. But the view made it all worth it! Thank you for the awesome stay!

Amazing Home

We have only stayed in one vacation rental home multiple times and this is the place. Stunning view, secluded and quiet, beautifully built and maintained home. No cheap furnishings but rather a well appointed and very comfortable home. The kitchen is outstanding. The beds are very comfortable. Bathrooms are great. The deck is wonderful. It is a haul to get up here but the drive up is beautiful and the views are worth the climb.

What a view!

Beautiful, immaculate house...seems nearly new. Views of Vancouver to the north and lovely sunsets. A bit of a precarious drive up the mountain but peaceful and remote.

This property is magnificent! Previous reviews stated that the drive to the top was a little bit daunting… All I can say it was worth the climb. We will definitely book this property again!
