“This was one of my best experiences traveling to Kyoto. The staff at check-in were very friendly and helpful. The room was spacious, clean, and cozy. All the amenities were conveniently located, and we easily found everything we needed. We were traveling with our 1-year-old child, and having an entire house to ourselves—including space to store a stroller, a tatami room, and a proper bathroom—made our trip especially comfortable and enjoyable.”

“Tout était très bien. Peut être un peu loin de l'agitation de la ville, mais en contre partie nous étions au calme et de nombreux bus vous amènent à toutes les destinations désirées. Appartement très correcte pour 4 personnes. Quelques oublis sur le ménage mais dans l'ensemble appartement propre. Nous recommandons cet appartement.”

“Not the easiest place to find, would suggest a sign between the two other buildings, it’s opp the Police station. At the rear of the front buildings. However once you have found it, the accommodation is great. Easy walk to buses or taxi to wherever. Great place would recommend, just remember it’s down an alley!”

“Although this property was an old nice machiya they updated it with a nice bathroom. But the beds were really comfy. I didn’t care for the location because it was far from bus and train station. It’s a long hot walk with all our luggage. Overall I probably wouldn’t stay again because of location but the inn was really great. ”

“We chose Shiki Homes Aki as our Kyoto base because we like to cook for ourselves and relax in the evening, while still having access to local sights and the public transport system. Shiki Homes Aki provided a well maintained, comfortable base in easy reach of buses and the subway. The Imperial Palace Gardens, the Nishijin textile area and Nijo Castle were all short walks from the house and city buses took us to other shrines, temples and shopping areas. “Great for 5 adults to enjoy the Japanese futon beds and home. One western queen, 3 futon beds, 2 baths, kitchen, washer/dryer combo (which I did not like as the drying made everything wrinkled as if drying clothes after a wash spin cycle and took over 3 hours). Would like to have a drying rack or hangers to dry the clothes. Western bedroom had locks on the closet so no way to hang anything and no place for putting away clothes so we left them in open suitcases. 1st floor single futon room had...
