We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and only wished for a few improvements, but had a negative experience after check-out, that prevented this from being a 5-star review. The property is very nice and clean, has a lovely view of the lake, wonderful balcony furniture, and is in a great location. We especially appreciated things such as coffee for the first morning, salt and pepper, pool towels, and enough kitchen/bath amenities to get us started (some owners at Vista Cay do not provide all these things). We only wished all the beds had actual bedspreads/comforters on them, not just sheets over a single blanket, with no extras, and that the clean dishes would be kept in the kitchen cabinets, not displayed on the bar and dining table, where it makes you wonder if they are clean. We don't need the dishes displayed like for a photo shoot; they should be clean and conveniently accessible in the kitchen cabinets when guests are staying there. But the thing that left a negative impression, was our experience after check out, when our daughter-in-law accidentally left her curling iron and hair dryer in the bathroom cabinet. After making numerous calls, and not getting follow-up calls/emails, despite being told I would, I was finally told they found the hair dryer but not the curling iron. Both items were left together in the cabinet, so this seems fishy and is quite frustrating. Hopefully situations like this can be improved on in the future. It's too bad that tainted our pleasant stay.
