Positives: Host was very attentive to chat. Negatives: condition of the home was very worn: stained and damaged carpets, door handles falling off, drawers on kitchen broken, clogged shower heads, leaking sink, stapled carpets over damaged carpets that have staples popping out, and to top it off, I paid for a heated pool which they didn’t heat until I pestered them for a day and a half about the temperature. The pool safety gating was also broken. We weren’t supposed to stay at this property - we booked a well rated property that they canceled on us maybe a month after booking several months in advance, citing they were “selling the property” and would rebook another property for the same price since they could no longer rent it at our reserved time.This seemed okay, but the “new properties” we could rent had 0 or 1 ratings, but the houses looked great from the pictures. It seemed like a good deal, since the new house was even bigger and “new” with more features for a discount. It wasn’t until we arrived that we realized all of the problems above and the “cool rooms” had lights that didn’t work right. The game systems only had Fortnite, which my kids aren’t allowed to play. I could go on, but all in all, the walls stayed up and the appliances worked. One of the most annoying things about poorly cared for VRBOs is having to report all of the issues so as to avoid taking the blame for them. It’s sad and inconvenient at a time we’re meant to be relaxing and enjoying.
