Perfect location for Disney

We stayed for a week while visiting the parks. Things I wish we knew before was that we would have appreciated extra blankets and pillows and beach towels. The room with the twin beds are not trundles they are thin Ikea mattresses than can be pulled to the floor for extra sleeping but only throw blankets were available when the property says it accommodates 8. We worked around it and it was fine, just not what was expected. The amenities for the resort were fun but the property doesn’t provide any towels that can be taken to the pool. The kitchen is under stocked and anything that previous renters would normally leave behind are removed (i.e. salt/pepper/oil) overall it was a great location for the parks and we weren’t spending a lot of time at the condo so it was great for what we needed! I should mention we did see a few dead “bugs” but nothing alive, so any problem before our stay must have been resolved.

Great location

Location was perfect. Residence matched the description. I wasn't a fan of communication before arrival but once we got checked in, there were lots of emails for communication. We did have ants in the bedroom and saw a few cockroaches but management sent an exterminator out.

Place was nice but management company was horrible

The place was nice and comfortable, but it was managed by a company called Wonder Vacation Homes which was horrible to work with. The communication from the very start was the absolute worse. They kept asking for the same documentation over and over, they tried to manage the process through a system that I could not access and told them I could not access in which they didn't respond (they later claimed they no longer had access to it), we extended our stay by 1 night about 2 months prior to our travel and the entire time they had the checkout date wrong. The cell reception at the place was horrible and it took them 3 days to provide the wifi password and code for the swimming pool. I called and left a message 4 times asking them to call me back and I never received a phone call. Not once. In addition, we stayed at the place for 10 nights. They provided 2 dishwasher detergent, 1 laundry detergent pack, 1 garbage bag, 2 mini bars of soap and 2 rolls of toilet paper. I don't mind buying my own toiletries but this just seemed extra cheap especially when they require you to start a load of laundry before you leave. In addition, there was nothing on hand to use for cooking like seasoning (not even the basic salt/pepper). Again, the place was nice but I don't plan to stay at another Wonder Vacation Home again.

Management Company Difficult

It was very difficult communicating with the management company. They didn't seem to be able to answer my questions and seemed difficult for them to get straight to the point. I felt like they treated me as if I should know the answers to my questions as a repeat customer when this was in fact, the first time I have used this property. Using the chat session is not clear at first. It was unclear where to enter for the first time, fortunately it was our regular entrance.

Condo was very nice. Staff was friendly and helpful. However, appears the owners cater more to people renting for only a few days at a time, and not for people renting for longer periods, such as 2 months. This was the worst stocked house/condo we have ever rented. No toaster, no kettle to make tea or instant coffee (not everyone drinks coffee or perked coffee), no tongs, no measuring cups, no oven mitts, no pot holders, no casserole or other oven dish, no vacuum for cleaning rugs, no mop to wash floors, no real ironing board (only a tiny table top one)

Cockroaches

Everything seemed great but then we saw cockroaches. First day we walked in and there we tons of fruit flies. They said they could send someone out but we had busy plans and didn’t want to wait for someone. A few nights in we found a cockroach in the queen bedroom. We thought maybe it was from something we bought so we didn’t report. 1 day later we saw 2 more roaches this time in the master room and the bathroom. I spoke with management and they just asked if we wanted pest control to come out. At this point we were leaving but we suggested they send them out before next people come. Just sucks bc it was a great location and cute place and now I have to worry if we are going to bring bugs home.

Great location

Overall great stay! Perfect location if you are coming for the Disney parks. They are only 10 minutes away. Unit is close to groceries, restaurants, shops, activities. Great kayaking nearby. Amenities in the complex are also wonderful, including a pool with lazy river and slides, gym, small mini golf course, etc. unit itself is nice with 3 bedrooms and 2 baths. Looks as advertised. Only reason I took off a star was we came across some cockroaches a couple times but not a big number and it is Florida so not totally surprising. But overall a great stay and would do it again if i were coming to Orlando.

Bed sheets, and pillow covers stained, give you the bare minimum with toilet paper, and paper towels. A/C and heater have to be set at certain temps, otherwise if it breaks, we have to cover repairs.

Excellent Location, Fantastic Amenities - - Annoying Processes

I enjoyed my stay at Story Lake Resort so much that I extended it several days. The location is simply fantastic for visits to Walt Disney World or SeaWorld. The amenities at Hide Away Club are excellent. That is the first time I've ever seen a mini golf course tucked inside a lazy river. It is an excellent idea. The condo was picture perfect. It was decorated exactly as photographed. There are some minor things that need attention, such as the state of the knives in the butcher block. However, that is so common with rentals I pack my own scissors and kitchen knife for travel these days. This minor nitpick aside, the kitchen in particular was fabulous. The abundant counter & storage space made this the best rental kitchen I've ever used. I compliment the management company, Wonder Vacation, on their communication. They were very responsive every time I reached out with a question. Wonder Vacation is a professional organization and it shows. However, there must be a better approach to verifying guest identity that the current multiple forms of photo ID. In a similar way, there must be a better way to let guests know the acceptable range for the thermostat or what goes in the toilet than printed labels. I understand the need for this type of communication. However, the method chosen works against the intent. Rather than reinforcing the luxury niche, it feels cheap and somewhat insulting to guests. Overall, this is a five star property in a prime location. I would happily stay again. If you want a great vacation close to the parks, staying here is a wonderful choice.

Nice condo near Orlando

The condo was very close inside the gate and was in the corner, which made it nice. There were most things in the house, except all of the TP rolls were not filled. All in all, it was a nice place and I would stay there again.

FIRST DISNEY TRIP

We spent weeks looking over different properties and untimely decided on this one and it was the best decision we made the whole vacation. The condo was amazing in every way. The condo was exactly like the photos, super clean, and the pools where great for the kids. First floor entrance in the first condo as you come into the complex so the in and out is very easy. Only thing is there isn’t many utensils and pans but we bought them at target. 10/10 we will be back for sure highly highly recommend especially for the price.
