Hi- My biggest issue was the Vacasa “manager” who slowly responded to a huge hornets nest in the front of the house. We were unable to use outside space the first 3 days as hornets were flying all over. (I have a severe allergy) They finally sent someone Tuesday who removed the nest. Vacasa should have someone on duty all the time to handle stuff like this apparently they don’t. House is really nice inside, but couches were covered with dog hair and all the dishes that were in the cabinets were greasy and had to be washed. Couches also smelled like dogs. Linen service was nice and sheets and towels were clean. Washer/drier is in a cobweb-filled basement. Not very pleasant or convenient. Porch has nails sticking up on deck so bring your shoes, plenty of storage in shed and grill was large and had spare containers. Loved the proximity of the beach but I would avoid simply due to the lack of attention from the Vacasa managers. Very expensive …

Adorable house only 5 minutes from Skaket beach. There is a short cut you can take down Willie Atwood road to the beach away from the crowds. Great back yard for dogs.

Very nice cape experience

Great little house. Clean, perfect location. Bushes outside are very overgrown but we looked past that. Small bug issue inside house, but that was the only negative. I’d stay here again

Not what was expected

House was clean on first impression however, after being in the house we noted lots of bugs that we were living with, I'm sure it was from the neglected yard. Everything was overgrown. You could not see out the front living room windows from the overgrown bush, and entry through the front door was not very attractive with vines and weeds growing across the stairs. The furniture is very old inside and the deck furniture was not very desirable at all. The use of the fire pit was not available as it was stuck almost in the woods with No chairs and no wood provided. As for the kitchen, there wasn't any spices provided. It would be very expensive to replace all those spices that people generally cook with and I would expect the home to be well equipped. Also, two dish towels provided that were so grungy I would not use them on the dishes. Overall I gave the house a 3 just due to the location and size was decent with sheets, towels and toiletries provided.

Great July 4th week

Awesome property, short walk to the beach. House had everything you could need, for beach and for stay. We really enjoyed our week, would definitely stay there again.

Wonderful Location

We enjoyed a long weekend here. The house was wonderful and the location is spectacular! We enjoyed our daily walks to the beach. The yard is wonderful. A few things to note. We were left one garbage bag for the weekend and only a handful of paper towels, we were unable to locate any replacements during our stay. Though there was plenty of TP (which other places normally ration!) The smoke detectors are very sensitive and went off while we were baking potatoes! Then the battery died in one, luckily there were replacements handy! Overall we wished we booked the entire week and really enjoyed being here! If you enjoy perfect sunsets on the cape, this is the house to stay at! Thank you for sharing it with us.

Location excellent—Home was not

We have been renting vacation homes for decades and this one was the worst experience thus far. We love dogs but this place allowed dogs and the cleaners did awful job of cleaning! Dog hair on sheets of bed! We rented this house because I was assured it had laundry available and the dryer didn’t work so we had to spend precious vacation time at the laundromat. The couch was very uncomfortable and again, dog hair everywhere. Machines in basement made loud noises continuously so we had to buy earplugs to sleep. Sadly, the home needs to be ready for travelers and it just isn’t.

Cape Cod Dream

This property is a piece of heaven. It is perfectly located with gorgeous trees that surround the yard which makes it private. The yard is large for games and they provide so many wonderful items to make your stay perfect. My little dachshund loved roaming the yard. Perfect firepit which unfortunately we didn't get to use. The house is gorgeous and has many touches to make it the perfect rental. Very comfortable home with everything provided you can think of. The communication is A plus. Thank you for sharing your beautifulhome with us. Would love to come back.

Skaket beach

Nice house and location, clean and well equipped. Great yard and nicely equipper with yard and beach items. That said, bedroom A/C units appeared old, were loud and at least in primary, required full on to meet cooling needs. Hedges along road very overgrown, so dangerous pulling out of driveway given entering on a curve. Otherwise, nice home and a very enjoyable experience.

Comfortable home, great location

Perfect size for our family of 5 and the location simply can't be beat. Walk to the beach and super close to downtown Orleans and the rail trail. This was our second stay here and we'll definitely be back!

Classic cottage in great location.

Although we were there in the winter, the location is walking distance to Skaket beach. Orleans village is also under 2 miles away. Kitchen looks newly renovated. Very clean and comfortable furnishings. WiFi worked though it did seem a little slower than I’m used to. Overall had a great stay.

Great location, but some issues that need to be resolved

This cute little cape house is super close to skaket beach. A 10 minute walk or a 3 minute bike ride for one of the best beaches on the cape! House was very clean, but unfortunately there were a few major issues. The master bedroom bathroom smelled very moldy, possibly from rain or water damage before we got there. There was also a huge bees nest in the gutter outside the front door, so we were constantly buzzed by bees making outside on the back porch stressful. The house would honestly have been great without these issues. It was well appointed, cheery and bright with new bedding and beach and bath towels. The pillows need an upgrade for sure. To the credit of the rental company, they came by the next day to try and make the mold smell better. It did slightly improve, but the bees nest could not be removed while were there. No fault of the owners here, just unfortunate for us. Hopefully these issues are resolved for the next renter!

Excellent location and cozy home

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here! The home was cozy and located both near the beach and town/bike path. We enjoyed walking to Skaket Beach and biking to Hog's Island Brewery and to town. The yard was great to play yard games and we spent a few nights roasting marshmallows around the fire pit. Our only suggestions would be to replace the igniter on the grill. It was stubborn to start and there was no can to collect grease. The kitchen was lacking in glassware, especially cocktail and wine glasses. Overall, it was an excellent stay and I would highly recommend staying at this property!

Skaket Escape

We enjoyed our time here at 4 Capt Linnel. It is a quaint Cape getaway close to our most favorite spot on all of Cape Cod-Skaket Beach! Have stayed at this home twice and will be booking again. Thank you!

Comfortable well located Cape house.

The two smaller bedrooms and bathroom were a tad “tired” but overall the house was very comfortable with plenty of room to spread out for a family of 4 plus a dog! Huge yard was a plus with our dog too. Great central location close to many Cape attractions and restaurants any either direction. Would definitely rent again.

Worthwhile!!!

The inside exceeded expectations! Roomy and clean! The yard was perfect for outdoor activities. We played croquet, wiffleball, and my daughter worked on dodging and shooting lacrosse(we brought a goal). Plenty of room for it all! Awesome shower in the master bedroom. Huge king-sized bed. The kitchen was well-equipped and large. The refrigerator was very nice. Great place!

Comfortable home, great location

This home was comfortable and immaculate. It's a great location for Skaket Beach, rail trail, Orleans downtown, Salt Pond Visitor Center, and Nauset beach. It was still a little cold so we didn't make much use of the deck/grill, but the kitchen was well-equipped and common areas were comfortable. Hot shower outside was great even in the cool weather. The split floor plan with master suite on the opposite side from the other bedrooms worked well for travelling with kids. We would definitely stay here again!

Nice house, great location

We stayed for a few days around new year’s. Nice house, pictures were accurate. A couple realities is that they desperately need new furniture. The couches are extremely old and worn out and we couldn’t sleep in the master bed as the mattress was very uncomfortable. Also the TVs only had local channels and did not have capability to stream. Owners should consider buying a Roku or changing the cable to at least a basic package.

Great location! Walk to Skaket

Great little house with a large yard right on the corner. Neighborhood is large and great for walking. Town of Orleans just 2 minutes away for groceries etc. Best part is walk to skaket beach in a few minutes.

Perfect WFH away from home

This house was perfect for a small group of girlfriends to get away for the week. We were all required to work remotely for a few days, and this house (seating inside and out, wifi, etc.) made the transition seamless for all. We were very happy with the cleanliness and overall amenities of this house - it really felt like a home away from home! Not to mention the location is pretty perfect - a short walk from the bay, and a short drive from nearly everything else! Perfectly in the middle, so anywhere on the cape is a relatively short drive :)

Decent Orleans House

This house is much nicer on the inside. The kitchen and master suite have been renovated and both are very nice, the living room is fine, and the other rooms are very small but okay. The location of the property is excellent. One concern is that the window unit air conditioners do not seem adequate. The deck and outdoor grill are very nice, and the yard is large, but the yard is not very well kept. Overall, we enjoyed our stay, and the house was okay for the two of us.
