Lots of space for 2 couples to spread out and enjoy the spectacular view. Remote and quiet location. House has two levels and a nice balcony off the 2nd floor. Hot tub and sauna were wonderful!

The location was wonderful with fantastic views, despite constant rain. Our host, however (the owner of the house) was not friendly or welcoming and this spoiled things to an extent. No welcome in person when we arrived, no card or welcome pack and we even had to make the beds ourselves - not great for a very expensive holiday house! The biggest problem was that the owner was living in a house just down the hill and was obviously watching us. At one stage, he turned up at the house to say that he was concerned we had the doors to the veranda open (the doors were covered from the rain and we wanted them open to enjoy the view). No hello or any pleasant words at all - he then said that he had been monitoring the room temperature and thought we should turn it up. For the rest of the time at the house we felt uncomfortable and as though we were being watched, which clearly we were. As we were checking out, he turned up again… no hello or asking about whether we had enjoyed our stay - he seemed suspicious of us and was looking for damage. To be honest, it all felt very much as though he didn’t want us there. He seemed to have forgotten that we had paid a lot of money to have a holiday in the house - it was as though he was begrudging of us being in his house. A shame as a nice welcome and some warmth and friendliness from the owner would have made our experience infinitely better.

Saebo villa

This villa rental experience has been one of the best ever for several reasons, and we're been renting villas for years worldwide.First is the huge, tranquil view, one of the best fjord-side views in all of Norway. The house has a large wraparound terrace from which the entire view envelops you in a 180 degree sweep. Before you, across the fjord are the Sunnmore Alps, one of Norway's premiere mountain climbing and hiking areas, just a 7 minute ferry ride away.Second, the little village of Saebo and its environs have limited mass tourism and retain Norway's pastoral rural character that elsewhere has been long overrun by the cruise ship crowds.Third is the house, a large, solidly built and well maintained and equipped traditional structure. The large open plan main floor is especially attractive, with the view surrounding you through the wrap-around widows.And last, but not least is Per Ove, the house's owner, who is one of the most responsive and accommodating hosts without being intrusive we've encountered. We will soon be back.Anne M.

Stunning View!!!!

We loved our stay.., our jaws dropped at the view! Pictures can’t fully capture it! We had the benefit of seeing recent snow on the mountains while experiencing clear, sunny weather. Great location to visit Geiranger and Hoven restaurant at Loen. Loved watching the view from the hot tub and playing the piano.

Wonderful place which you wouldn't like to leave

The check-in with Per Ove was completely easy and well done. We got informations about the house and how to deal with the Jacuzzi. Overall an amazing place with a wonderful view on the Fjord. All information we got from Per Ove and the contact information for guides and other were very helpful. Without the help from Per Ove we also would not be able to leave the house so early. He comes very early and cleared the way from snow. THANKS again for this. There are thousands of possibilities for all family members in and outside the house so that there is not one minute boredom! I've played the piano with this great view (could perhaps be tuned sometime ;-). You will find everything in the kittchen whatever you need. enjoy the morning lights and we were lucky to see the northern lights over the mountains. WOOOW!! Also the pickup from Alesund airport was easy for some of our family members. We used the new fireplace and itt was nice to sit in the snow and look to the fire and the fjord in the night. The Joker nearby serves you with everything you need.

Tolles Haus mit einmaliger Aussicht

Das Haus ist sauber und hat alles (und noch mehr) was man für seinen Aufenthalt braucht. Gut geeignet für große Familien und liegt an einem wunderschönen Fjord. Die Aussicht ist wirklich beeindruckend und in dem nur ein paar Meter entfernten Dorf gibt es einen kleinen, süßen Supermarkt. Die Kommunikation mit dem Besitzer ist unkompliziert und so hat auch Check In/Out reibungslos funktioniert. Norwegen bzw. die Gegend um Saebo haben wir nicht als klassisch touristisch erlebt und ist wohl eher für Ruhesuchende geeignet.

Es hat von Anfang bis Ende Alles super gepasst! Der Gastgeber Oer Ove ist super nett! Check-In hat super geklappt! Haus war sauber und im Whirpool war neues Wasser! Der Blick über den Fjord ist unbezahlbar! Das Haus lässt keine Wünsche offen! Bis zur Fähre und das Zentrum von Sæbo sind es 2 Minuten mit dem Auto! Wer Stille und Ruhe liebt, kommt hier auf alle Fälle auf seine Kosten! Sehr gern wieder!

The perfect house, host, village and views

This was undoubtedly the most spectacular of houses we have ever rented. The view from the house was ever changing and always amazing. Per Ove’s house is very nice, extremely well maintained and there are a multitude of kitchen utensils and equipment. The outside hot tub is an amazing experience and gives you both the hot tub experience and the views of the fjord. Per Ove is a very good host, answering almost immediately and cares about his guests. We have overall had an amazing eight nights in his house and loved every minute of it.

Amazing location

If you’re looking for a place that matches the views and beauty of fjords in your mind and pictures, this is the place. The location and views are absolutely stunning. The house is spacious, private, and in a quiet area. Per Ove supplies nearly every incidental (paper towels, TP, dish soap, laundry and dishwasher detergents, cleaning supplies, shampoo, hand soap, and trash bags) so there’s no need to stop at a store on the way except for groceries. If you have a personal favorite bath soap or body wash, consider bringing that in. He is very quick and thorough in his communication, and ready to give helpful tips on airport and rental car information, grocery stores, and sights. Definitely don’t hesitate to reach out to him if you have questions. We highly recommend this rental.

Erholung pur

Wir wollten was besonderes und haben es hier gefunden. Ein wunderschönes Haus mit einem ausgezeichneten Ausblick. Die Bilder in der Anzeige waren nicht beschönigt. Das Haus bietet alle beschriebenen Annehmlichkeiten und war sehr sauber und komfortabel. Mein Mann und ich fanden zwar die Matratzen zu weich, aber das ist ja immer persönlicher Geschmack. Die Küche ist großzügig ausgestattet. Die Möbel sowie der Grill sind sehr gut. Morgens beim Kaffee auf der Terrasse sitzen und auf den Fjord schauen, einfach herrlich! Per Ove ist ein sehr guter Gastgeber. Man kann schöne Tagesausflüge von dort unternehmen. Wir hatten zehn entspannte Tage bei herrlichem Wetter.

Greatest view ever

Nothing is missed in the house. Thoughtfully equipped. The view from the terrace is phenomenal. Silence in abundance. The piano is a highlight for a musician (although it would have to get a little tuning ;-)). Just sit there and enjoy nature. Or make a trip to the fjords. Each corner a postcard view. We'll be back!

Haus in Sæbø

Das Haus ist sehr geräumig und bietet 8 Personen ausreichend Platz. Es ist gut und komfortabel eingerichtet - unter anderem riesiger Kühlschrank, Whirlpool, Außen-Spa und Sauna - und sehr sauber. Am besten hat uns jedoch die Lage gefallen: Direkt über den Fjord mit grandioser Aussicht auf bis zu über 1.500 m hohe Berge, und extrem ruhig gelegen. Der Vermieter war sehr freundlich und hat uns direkt empfangen und das Haus gezeigt. Bei Problemen war er sofort für uns da. Das Haus und den Vermieter können wir uneingeschränkt weiterempfehlen.

Spectacular and peaceful

This house is located in an absolutely spectacular location. The town of Saebo is seemingly a well-kept secret and is extremely quiet and relatively undeveloped. The house offers numerous amenities including a spacious living space, indoor sauna, jacuzzi, multiple TVs, lots of seating and kitchen space plus a grand piano inside, and a very large balcony and deck, hot tub and secluded setting outside with world-class views perched on the edge of the fjord. While the furnishings are less than luxurious and likely in need of an update, the large house is amply provisioned to suit most needs. You can walk into town and get basics or drive 20 minutes to a larger town for everything else. This is a place to be awed by nature, relax, hike, take the ferry to a nearby hamlet. No fancy restaurants or shops and little excitement except for the sheer beauty of the area. No giant cruise ships like other fjords either. We did not want to leave.

Gorgeous view on the Fjord

A large and spacious house, good for small and big families. A stunning view across the fjord and absolutely quiet, we never noticed the quarry nearby. The owner lives in the village and is helpful and reacheable whenever he is needed. Kitchen and other stuff is complete and in top shape. We spent a great week there with nice hikes on the other side of the water.

Wonderful weeks in Saebö

Spacious, cosy and well equipped house, that is in effect very clean. The best of it is the long, bright front of windows facing the fjord and inviting the blue light to come in. Outside there is a veranda and big terrace to sit and enjoy the gorgious view. The house is located in the middle of a lot of tourist attractions, such as Geiranger Fjord, Runde, Trollstiegen, Jostedalsbreen, the stave church at Lom, which are easily accessible within a day tour. The mountains, that surround the fjord offer a wide range of hikes of all levels of difficulty. The owner himself is very friendly, helpful and respects the privacy of his clients. We spent three lucky weeks in Saebö. Electricity is expensive also in Norway, so we had to pay 240 Euros extra for three weeks, using sauna, hot pot and the air conditioning of the house, as it is not included in the general price. Yet, spending time in the middle of the night under a perfect sky full of stars in the bubbling hot pot after a tour was it absolutely worth!

Emplacement phénoménal !

Les photos ne sont pas trompeuses. C'est au moins aussi beau que ca ! Nous étions 8 et la maison est bien assez grande ! La vue est splendide ! Prévoir un supplément pour les draps et serviettes et en demander assez pour gérer douche, sauna et jacuzzi que vous utiliserez certainement ! Ballades magnifiques toutes proches en particulier juste en face en ferry au départ de Urke. Assez près de Gerangeir pour le faire sur la journée. Boulangerie, essence et supérette dans le village. Restaurant super sympa à faire à Trandal accessible uniquement en ferry. Attention au horaires. Souvenirs inoubliables dans un des plus beaux fjord de Norvège. La météo n'était pas extraordinaire mais cela fait partie du charme et de la beauté de ce pays de rêve. Merci à Per pour son accueil !

Wonderful Fjord Experience

We really had a wonderful stay at this place and enjoyed everything about the house and the area. The view to the Fjord is unbeatable. Like a postcard, actually :) There are lots of enjoyable hikes to explore and also daytrips to Alesund, Runde island or even Geiranger and Trollstigen are easy to reach. Communication with the host was great, very helpful and we did not miss anything. House is awesome, lots of space and really really clean. We also liked a lot that the TVs, whirlpool, sauna worked great and were easy to use. Hopefully we can come back someday. If we visit the area again, Per Oves house will be the first option for sure.

Perfekte Lage mit unzähligen Ausflugsmöglichkeiten

Wir verbrachten zwei erlebnisreiche Urlaubswochen im verschlafenen Örtchen Sæbø. Das Haus und die Umgebung gefielen uns sehr gut. Die geografische Lage von Sæbo ist perfekt, um Ausflüge nach Ålesund, den Trollstigen, an den Geirangerfjord, zur Vogelinsel Runde und zu den Jostedalgletschern zu unternehmen. Da blieb fasst kaum noch Zeit, um Angeln zu gehen. Zum Glück braucht man nicht weit raus fahren. Die Bucht vor Sæbø ist sehr fischreich, Der Vermieter konnte uns allerdings keine Tipps geben. Wir orientierten uns daher an den zahlreichen anderen Angelfreunden und hatten schnell unseren Hotspot gefunden. Einzig nachteilig war die Fahrerei zum Hafen runter. Zu Fuß ist der Weg leider einfach zu weit und zu steil. Im Haus haben wir uns auch sehr wohl gefühlt. Es ist gemütlich und geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Das Internet ist superschnell und in der Küche gab es sogar AppleTV, worüber wir abends gleich einen Fotorückblick unserer Impressionen anschauen konnten.
