Good email communication from the host Electronic lock on the door had low batteries so it would only manually lock from the inside so when we went out to eat, we knew our door would be unlocked. The shower pressure was poor and the hot water ran out pretty quickly the bed was below average The room temperature was unsteady and poorly regulated The history and the artifacts were really cool, as was the ambiance of the old hotel. With a little more money, some attention to detail, and a bit of TLC this place could really be an amazing place to stay. I can see so much potential with this destination, but potential and reality are two very different things. Unfortunately, the bed, the shower, the room temperature, and the door lock canceled out any good history juju that we might’ve enjoyed. I know it’s an old hotel and I know it was priced decently, but batteries, hot water heaters, shower heads and better HVAC would’ve made this an all star review. This place is a treasure and I would just love to see it reach its full potential!

We stayed in the Sally Rand room. The room and bed were comfortable and within walking distance to an awesome coffee shop (The Leaky Roof?) and a nice little stroll down by the river where we saw eagles in the trees. This was a unique place to stay for us to break up a long drive. The host was friendly and the property felt secure. Unfortunately I can't give five stars for the pool because we didn't use it so I don't know anything about it and the review form wouldn't let me skip it.

You will love this place.

My husband and I love staying here. Mr Rob is always available to whatever your need may be. We arrived after the race on Friday night and didn’t have any hot water. I messaged Mr Rob and he was so apologizing because he had forgot to turn back on the hot water heater. He had turned it off because of the storms. We didn’t have but one wash cloth. No problem. He left us 2 the next day. Saturday morning we saw that the ceiling was leaking. No problem. I went and got him and he was so apologizing. Before we ever came he messaged me and told me that the previous storm had torn the roof off and they had a temporary fix on top. He would refund our money if we wanted him too. We chose to stay. We were glad that we did. We had a wonderful stay. We will stay again.

Fun stay at the historic hotel!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Historic Commercial Hotel! We booked 2 rooms and they were both themed perfectly! Hosts were very nice and informative. I would highly recommend staying here. We plan to again in the future!

Weekend get away!

Room was very nice and comfortable. My wife and I spent two nights and were happy. Would definitely book again. If you get a nice evening or morning the river is within walking distance very beautiful and peaceful.

My husband and I came after we left the race at Lucas Oil Track.. We got here at 12:30am. I contacted the host to let him know that we were coming but would be there let. He contacted right back, no problem. I would stay here again if needed. We loved everything about it.

Absolutely Amazing !

We adored our room. My daughter is a dancer and it was so cool for her. We wish we could stay longer and will definitely be back ! Such a nice "slowdown" for city people! Also ,we felt super safe, even though it was just the two of us! Thank you Everything !!

2021 vacation

We had a great time at the Historic Commercial Hotel in Osceola Missouri. The room was very comfortable and the hosts were a wonderful couple who were very responsive to our requests. This is a historic property, so it is not new, but very comfortable. If we are ever in the area again we will definitely stay with them again. We loved it!
