“The entry to the bed and breakfast was through the owner's residence. The state of the entry probably should have given a clue about the cleanliness of the rooms. The floors in the hallway looked as though they hadn't seen a vacuum in a year. Layers of dust on the furniture in the room, and floors that were not cleaned prior to my arrival. The shared bathroom hadn't been cleaned and the shower curtain was covered in pink mold. An old used facecloth hung inside the shower. I made this reservation...

“Everything was wonderful”

“Best that can be said is that it was clean. The shower was ok. No on-site staff, we had to check in using a Ring doorbell and bad phone connection. The baseboard heat control required me to get on the floor and crawl into the corner of the room behind the fridge. And the room didn’t look at all like the picture on Expedia. Stay here if you have no other choice.”

“Lovely grounds, well maintained rooms, very pleasant staff and excellent breakfast, and the main house is a beautiful vintage estate house. I stayed in a separate building with a relaxing common area. It would have been nice to have coffee/tea available in room or in the common area (rather than have the short walk to the office area) to get coffee in the morning, particularly in inclement weather.”

“We did not want for anything! The house is full of historic charm. Even when the temperature was -11, it was warm inside. New windows eliminated any drafts I was concerned about when booking the house. Scott is so accommodating. He brought us farm fresh duck eggs to make for breakfast. “It is an Artist’s Retreat. It is very quirky, but once you get used to it, it was great. Dog friendly, brought my boxer, large back space to walk them in. Right on river, absolutely peaceful.My only thing is none of the rooms have two beds, and I was traveling with my brother. Not sleep in’ in a bed with him (sorry not sorry) Host moved us to a different space that had a queen bed and a door that could be closed and two futons that were not private, but that wasn’t a big deal.
