quick trip home

We had a great time on the property. It was close enough that my sister and family were able to come for the evening and grill out, swim, and hang out by the lake. The property was lovely though I must have missed the detail about the stairs. The house was generally quite clean.

Perfect lakeside cabin , loved the dock and the privacy . Really enjoyed taking the kayaks out first thing in the morning. Very clean and plenty of linens . Nice new bathroom. Smoke alarm very sensitive.

Nice Escape

Place is in a great location to explore the area. Very quiet street and the house is tucked right along the bank of the lake. Having the dock and outdoor patio was so nice! The stairs to access are no joke, so pack light if you can. The house is simply appointed but cozy and comfortable, decent kitchen and bathroom. Only complaint is the cobwebs and dust in the hard to reach areas, but otherwise clean enough. Would go back for sure.

Sheldrake Solitude

The property was filthy when we arrived. There was open leftover food on the countertops and in the fridge and a bag of rotting potatoes on top of the fridge. There were mouse droppings on the countertops. Trash containers were not emptied. The property promised a boat and two kayaks. No boat was found and the kayaks were stashed under the house and covered with dirt. The beds were made but, with the condition of the rest of the house, we couldn’t trust that the bedsheets were clean. The offer was made to have the house cleaned the next day. We were unable to load our food into the fridge due to the leftover clutter. We made the difficult decision not to stay at this property. It was our hope to receive at least a partial refund which was denied.

Beautiful setting on the lake

The stairs are no joke, so pack light. The house is dated, but sufficient. Could definitely use some updating and the cleanliness was lacking. The lake view, kayaks, and dock were awesome. Recommend Wyckoff Farms stand down the road. We had a fun, comfortable stay next to quiet neighbors.

Peaceful and just perfect!

We loved our stay! Beautiful home- right in the water with a great dock and swimming area. Great beds, linens and a well stocked kitchen. We brought pizza dough and there was a pizza pan- score! Quiet lake, great wildlife and quiet neighbors. Please stop by the Wyckoff farms stand, it’s just down the road and has amazing produce and a burger pack to bring home to grill- so good! The kayaks were a wonderful perk and our kids loved it too!

Location, location, location

The cottage is situated in a perfect location. It is quiet and serene. We enjoyed sitting on the dock in the mornings, and on the covered porch when it rained. We walked in the mornings and it was pleasant, as the road was not busy. We saw a lot of birds, including an American Eagle soaring past the cottage. It is located close to some wineries. Sheldrake Point Winery is a little over a mile down the road - our favorite on Cayuga. We visited Cornell Lab of Ornithology which was only about a 45 minute drive. A few suggestions to improve the rental - replace outdoor grill and the toaster. Add another air conditioner downstairs. Put a blind in the upstairs window so people walking down the steps cannot see in. Also, it appears the owner has issues with carpenter bees. We were surprised by an exterminator one morning at 7AM while we were enjoying coffee on the porch. He was not informed there were guests, and we were not informed of his coming. He sprayed the sides of the house while we were there and was going to come back to spray the porch.

Great place

Great place in a great location. Had one minor issue with a smoke detector but the property management company was attentive and quick responding which was great. A lot of stairs but we expected that. We have no complaints and would happily return to this specific property and stay again

Perfect Winery Getaway Lake-house!

Wonderful stay for a winery bachelorette celebration this weekend. It was extremely clean, stocked, and perfect for what we were looking for! The only hiccup occurring in the check in process in which I was not contacted with the check in info same day as previously told. However, the customer service is quick and responsive, and this was immediately remedied with a short phone call! The view could not be beat, waking up to the water every morning was a dream! The road had almost no traffic making it perfect for morning walks. We even met some of the neighbors while out and they were so friendly and welcoming! Would definitely stay here again and recommend to anyone!

Lively lakeside retreat

Great, well appointed house right on the lake. Beautiful lake views from kitchen, living room and even the shower! The brand new dock was a wonderful spot to take in the calm lake views. Wyers Point Rd. Had little traffic, so it was nice going for walks everyday. Looking forward to visiting again.

Amazing view!!

We loved being right on the lake. The views were amazing and we could hear the water lapping against the shore. The house was very comfortable and had everything we needed for our long weekend. My only concern was I didn't realize we would be required to go down multiple steps to get to the house. I would have packed differently if I had known.
