Great place to stay for large family. We were 11 people and we all slept comfortably. The house is well equipped with a nice view of the river. Just a short drive to White Pass for some lovely skiing. We would definitely stay again! Thank you!

Love the views and spacious rooms. A few sugestions: found chips in 1 bowl &1 tall glass; 5 of the spices were empty, trays under burners were very greasy, dirty & smoked; microwave plate doesn't turn; shower instructions in master were wrong; one leg on coffee table was held on by 2 screws at an angle. We bought screws and screw driver to repare it. Our toddler really enjoyed your children's books! Windows were dirty Gas fireplace only worked 2 of 6 nights.

Spectacular riverfront home. Well maintained and very comfortable. Sitting right above the river, listening to the running water and surrounded by mountains is as perfect a location as I can imagine. Heating and cooling system worked well. Mattresses were very comfortable and kitchen was well appointed.

Ski trip on White Pass!

The photos taken of this river side view does not serve it justice. You will have to see the view in person. Everything regarding the stay was more than acceptable. I would recommend this stay to anyone whose going to visit this beautiful area.

Great time - winter ski trip base

We did a family trip here, and skied a few days at White Pass. The first thing to say is that the view and sound of the river is AMAZING. The house is well-furnished and the beds are comfortable. The hot tub was perfect after a day of skiing. We used the 240V plug by the bunk house to charge our EV's and it worked great.Great communication with the hosts.Packwood has several restaurants and a couple small grocery stores, so if you need something it's not far away.White Pass is about a 35min drive away. We used this place as a base and drove to White Pass to ski. It worked out great.I would definitely recommend this property.

Skiing Trip

Property was exactly as specified. Plenty of room for everyone (11 Adults, 1 small child), and we all had a great time. Check-in and Check-out process were seamlessly easy, hosts were communicative, and the property is in a fantastic area. We would 100% stay again =)

Summer Family Getaway

Loved the view, easy access to the river, the seclusion of the home due to it being on the point. Great fun playing cornhole and hanging out on the deck. The campfire spot was awesome but unfortunately, due to high fire hazard, we were unable to use it. The gazebo was nice with swinging egg dome chairs and Edison lights in the evening. The decor was nice and the house had a comfy and "lived in" feel. Nice time on the Cowlitz river.... left with memories of good times and great fun!

Great place to relax with friends

Our group of 12 had a great time here! The location on the river is incredible and the multiple outdoor areas made it easy to enjoy. The kitchen is well stocked with thoughtful extras like a ton of spices. Lots of extra towels and shampoo/soap were provided. Great communication with the host leading up to and throughout our stay. Yearly trip to the mountains

My husband and I stayed at this property for our annual hiking trip away from our kids, just the two of us. It is an absolutely gorgeous and serene property. The photos simply do not do it justice. We hiked Mt Rainier trails every day and relaxed in the river in the evenings. We already miss the sounds of the river and can’t wait to come back! The property owners were awesome and responded quickly to a few questions we had. Checking in was a breeze.

Absolutely breathtaking views

Our group of 7 (age range 7 to 65) all agree that we could not be more pleased with the River House. The views from inside the house are staggeringly great, but you must experience what this property has to offer outdoors. The man-made outdoors stuff (grill, hot tub, gazebo, fire pit are all really nice. But the views! The views! The website pics cannot do justice to how wonderful the River and the hills/ridges really are to just see and experience. We loved making a huge fire each night and just sat out and talked till we couldn't talk anymore, and then we just sat (in very comfy chairs) and let the wild/wilderness enrich us all. I can also vouch that the master bedroom bed and bedding is very comfortable. My regrets are (a) that we couldn't stay longer, and (b) that I can't give this property more than 5 stars--the views and grounds and outdoorsy stuff is the best! Top it all off with a friendly owner who is quick to answer questions!

Trip Ruined

I would highly recommend booking elsewhere!! Upon arrival for checking in, another group arrived as well and we discovered this property was double booked. As the guests, we had to uncover this and sort it out with the other guests before ever hearing from the property owners. The owners did eventually get in contact to honor the other group's reservation and cancel my reservation, while providing no acceptable alternative accommodations within a 2 hour drive of our current location. Our whole trip was ruined and this situation put us in a position of having to figure out how to safely get home instead of check in to our weekend stay. As a Hospitality professional who has worked in the industry for over 10 years, I am appalled at how this property manages reservations made 5 months in advance, and how the guests are treated by both the owners and VRBO.
