CLEAN and SERENE eco-friendly private cottage!

  • Cabaña privada, magnífica habitación de 720 pies cuadrados, cocina completa, baño, amplia sala de estar / comedor. Lanai cubierto con parrilla de gas, asientos en el patio, área de cenador cubierto con hamacas y sillas colgantes. Convenientemente ubicado justo al lado de la famosa costa de la 'Red Road'. Cerca de flujos de lava anteriores y aventuras oceánicas, eventos comunitarios, mercados y el pintoresco pueblo de Pahoa. ¡Este es absolutamente el lugar MÁS LIMPIO que encontrarás para tus vacaciones en Puna!

    Vida limpia, privada y tranquila mientras exploras el distrito de Puna de Big Island desde el área de Kalapana: observación de lava, observación de ballenas y delfines durante los meses de invierno, excursiones en barco y mucho más. Hogar energéticamente eficiente. A poca distancia de la música de los miércoles por la noche del tío Robert y el mercado de agricultores de Maku`u los domingos por la mañana. Visite el pintoresco pueblo de Pahoa para ver tiendas y restaurantes. Dentro de 5 minutos en coche hacia el sur por el camino rojo se encuentra Kalapana, donde el camino termina en los campos de lava. Allí encontrará el Kalapana Café y el Kava Bar del tío Robert, así como caminatas guiadas de lava y un sendero a través de los campos de lava hasta la nueva playa.

What a cool little cabana. It has everything you need, and we really enjoyed the jungle like setting with all the beautiful plants and geckos serenading us each evening. Marylove has gone to great lengths to make this a special place to stay.

We absolutely loved our stay here!! Mary-Rose was a friendly and helpful host who was happy to give us our space but also happy to chat or give recs when needed. The space was beautiful and clean and there were thoughtful amenities provided like ear plugs for the coquis. When we go back to the Big Island, we will be staying here again!!

Our stay at this VRBO cottage was absolutely magical. It had everything we needed for a comfortable and relaxing 4-night stay. We especially loved the back outdoor area—it was the perfect place to unwind while listening to the coqui frogs each evening.The bed was very comfortable, and we slept great every night. As a bonus, getting to witness episode 45 of Kīlauea during our visit made the experience even more unforgettable.We would definitely stay here again!

We had no idea this cottage would be so lovely and serene! It was close to most things that we wanted to see although I would have been just as happy to chillax around the property. It was super clean and I miss the drinking water already. MaryRose is an awesome host.

We absolutely loved our stay here, especially the lanai! The unit was very well equiped, clean, super comfy and a great location away from any crowds but easy enough to visit other areas of the island.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay and would happily return. The cottage was spotless, quiet, and incredibly comfortable. While many vacation rentals end up being just a place to shower and sleep, we found ourselves genuinely enjoying spending time here. The covered patio became our favorite spot, and we spent almost every evening relaxing outside.The air conditioning and ceiling fans kept the cottage comfortable even on the warmest evenings, which was much appreciated. The kitchen was well equipped, the bed was comfortable, and the entire property felt peaceful and private.The location was ideal for exploring Puna and the Red Road area, but honestly, the cottage itself became part of the vacation. It was a pleasure to come back to each day. If you're looking for a clean, serene, and thoughtfully maintained place to stay on the Big Island, this is it. Highly recommended!

We really enjoyed the stay, the place was well furnished and decorated tastefully. It also included many appliances and thoughtful additions that made it an easy place to stay.We had one issue with the key not working to lock/unlock the place - once our host was informed she was on it and had it handled immediately. Great response.

When I stay in places like this it makes me wonder why anyone would ever want to stay in a hotel . Mary Rose has created a lovely piece of paradise for all who stay with her. The entire backyard is yours to relax in! I particularly enjoyed reading in the swing.The bed is very comfortable and having a washer and dryer available to use was huge for us as we were running out of clean clothes to wear after being on the island for 2 weeks. The pictures do not do this space justice- it is a very large comfortable space! We truly enjoyed our stay here and would highly recommend it to anyone looking to stay in this area!

A fabulous oasis

Mary love has created a fabulous oasis from which to explore the Puna district. The attention to detail was fantastic; everything we thought of needing was thoughtfully provided by our host. We would highly recommend staying here!

Dream Honeymoon Cottage

Staying here was the highlight of our honeymoon trip to Hawai 'i. The host Ms. Love did an excellent job presenting the cottage and making it feel like a home away from home! The cottage was gorgeous had everything we needed and more! Would come again and would definitely recommend!

A great place to stay!

The cottage was perfect for my husband and I and a great spot for exploring the Hilo side of the The bed was the most comfortable of any bed we've had at a rental. Or host was helpful and her cottage has all of the little details to make a stay enjoyable. Thank you!helpfulisland.

Peaceful and spacious

Location is great for getting away with a short walk to the ocean for sunrise/sunset views. There is a drive into town for grocery/gas etc. but a beautiful area to visit.

I love Mary’s cottage. It was beautiful and serene. Not too far out of town, and a beautiful drive to get there. No negatives, it was absolutely perfect.
