House needs fixing up old and broken ,appliance looks dirty or Don’t work, it is not a relaxing vacation for me,I travel to big island every year this is first time leaving here not happy! I also fall down inside of house because water leak!

We already miss the sounds of the breaking waves
Location and ocean view was FANTASTIC. While it's not a 5-star/ $1000 per night hotel, it has everything you would need/ expect from an excellent beach house. We were only a group of 2, but the house easily could accommodate 6 people. Great jumping off point to see sites on this side of the island (Hilo, Volcano, towns that existed a few years ago but then were taken by lava). Don't miss Uncle Robert's on Wednesday night with other locals. It was a great time. Also, the Lava Flow museum in Pahoa was really interesting and the local guide there explained a lot about how the lava impacted her life.

Awesome view
The house was in an amazing place on the ocean overlooking about 30 feet of lava into the ocean. The waves crashing put us to sleep in comfortable beds. The neighborhood was nice and restaurants were close. Liv and Bob had neighborhood suggestions for restaurant and activities. We went to their neighborhood black beach and it was awesome. The kitchen had much more than you could ask for. I would love to revisit this place and stay in this house again!

Great Family Stay
We enjoyed our time watching the waves crashing on the shore. They lulled most of us to sleep each night. Home was comfortable & well loved. Neighbourhood was peaceful.

Great place and great location!
The condo is very nice. Very clean, great amenities and the host focuses on the details to make your stay very comfortable with all you would hope for in a vacation rental. 50 yards to the beach and 75 yards to a great restaurant for happy hour, food and outdoor seating to take in the sunset. I highly recommend this.

Absolutely Wonderful!
The location was perfect! We chose it since our cousins were only 20 minutes away and could not have been happier. The vibe was incredible listening to the ocean and everything was very serene and peaceful. The house was well-stocked and clean. We are already talking about our next visit! The waves
It was our first time to Big Island and wanted to get as much in as possible. The house was sweet, the waves crashing on the lava rocks was mesmerizing, the house was clean, a bit older than expected but it was clean, neat and tidy. The only thing was we didn’t realize the amount of time it would take to get to Volcano National Park and the amount of time you would spend driving around it. Overall we had a wonderful time in the evenings playing card games and listening to the waves.

We enjoyed the ocean view from house. The other details shown in the listing does not match the expectations. This house is old with bare minimum amenities. You will have to travel minimum 30 mins one way to access local attractions and towns.

Great house on the water!
Our family had a great time and the house was perfect. Lots of space and had everything we needed. Loved sitting by the ocean during the day and listening to the waves crashing at night. We did the Hilo Farmers market, explored Hilo, Volcanoes national park, Kua Bay and Hapuna beach. Great vacation to the Big Island and wonderful to come back to such a nice house and amazing view.

Unbelievable views
95% of the cost is going towards the view. The house is very old and the location is remote but the private ocean views are absolutely insane. We even saw whales while lounging in the backyard.

Beautiful views
Our stay went well except there was some black mold on the bottom of the guest bathroom shower curtain that the cleaner missed but the property manager said that they would have the cleaner take care of that. There were also large dust bunnies in the slats of the folding bathroom door that should be cleaned. Other than that everything was fine. It's an older home and there is some wear and tear, especially being so close to the salty ocean. During our stay there were huge, wild thundering waves and the views are beautiful. All in all we enjoyed our stay.

Oceanfront Cliffside Retreat Outside of Hilo
Very nice two bedroom + loft home in the Hawaiian Beaches neighborhood south of Hilo perched atop a 30 foot cliff overlooking the Pacific Ocean. We saw Humpback whales, dolphins, turtles and fish flying out of the water. We watched and felt the surf pound the shore while we enjoyed our Kona coffee on the back patio in the mornings. Very idyllic and peaceful. A beautiful stay.

Birthday Trips
It was our first time to Hawaii for our Birthdays and you couldn’t of asked for a better view very peaceful neighborhood too was very windy during our stay on that side of the island but that was ok gave for nice waves to look at and a double rainbow formed one morning that was cool great beach house I’d say!!! Recommend if we go back to big island and stay on that side we’d consider staying here again Thank You

Affordable oceanfront
Had a great stay with the sounds of the ocean waves lulling me to sleep every night, wonderful views, starry nights with the glow of Hilo in the distance. The house showed a bit of wear and tear but nothing to complain about. Felt very roomy with well stocked kitchen. Seemed like a great price for being oceanfront.

Mother/Daughter vacation October 19th-24th 2023
The view is absolutely amazing. If you want peace and relaxation, this is the place. If you do want to do anything, be prepared to drive 30 mins to 2hrs each way. The house doesn't have any ac and will get alittle warm during the day even with all the windows open. Overall this is a beautiful house with a perfect view. I absolutely would stay again.

Let me start off by saying I would not recommend this facility. Being right on the water was fantastic, but for the money charged not worth it. When we arrived the front door was unlocked even though it had a combination lock, could not make it work during our stay. The toilet on the second level was soiled. The towels were thin, looking like they have been used for a long time. The front handrail going up to the front door was loose, not sure how much force it could accept before it failed. We could not use the “porch” on the third level due to its questionable appearance and the metal support poles holding up the porch looked like they were repaired by a novice. The shower on the third level also leaked, flooding the bathroom around the toilet. Not a good ecperience.

Great ocean front property
The views from all windows and the backyard of the ocean were amazing, and exactly what we were looking for. The house did have some dust accumulating in areas, but overall it was clean and well kept. No problems at all with check in, check out, or the rest of our stay.

Wow!!!
House was fine, beds comfortable, showers clean. I expected to have to drive to get anywhere (didn’t want to be around tons of tourists) and house was picked for the backyard view. It did not disappoint!

Cute house right on the ocean
Had a great stay at this cute cottage, literally 50 ft above the water. As you walk in, you feel you're standing on the ocean. In a very quiet neighborhood, away from the crowds. If you're looking for action, this is not the place. If you're looking for a beautiful, serene house right on the water, you can't beat it

Spectacular experience!!
We could not have had a better time and left reluctantly and feeling so grateful to have had this experience. The house was well-stocked and comfortable and the location was like something in a movie. We spent early mornings outside with coffee and the sunrise and the rest of the day exploring. Great food options in Pahoa for takeout also. Truly a vacation we’ll be reminiscing about for years!! Mahalo Crystal and family for opening your incredible home to us!

Ocean sound was the only thing worth the money
Property looks way better on the photos than in reality. I am quite puzzled with all the reviews praising the house. It’s definitely not in good shape. The update is long overdue. Floors are all scratched, kitchen is horrible, tiny microwave is rusted and only appetizer plates can fit in. Speaking of plates, there are four of them: 2 big, 2 small and a set of glass dessert plates. Second bathroom was cheaply done in one half of the closet, hence the smell and see through closet doors. They didn’t bother installing a proper bathroom door! It looks like not a penny was invested in the maintenance for years. Nor thorough cleaning. All the curtains were dirty and the ones above the kitchen sink had disgusting stains on them. The house is pretty far away from everything which can be both good or bad, depends on your needs. The only hidden jewel is the sound of the waves crashing on the cliffs. That was absolutely amazing. Unfortunately, there were no lounge chairs outside, just regular, uncomfortable ones. I wouldn’t stay at this house again, but I would look for the similar location, ocean is deeply inspiring.

Beach house
We had a short stay but this was the closest we’ve ever been to the water’s edge. We loved having the ocean sounds and wonderful sea breeze all night. The location is a distance from restaurants and groceries but the neighborhood is peaceful and quiet. The home is comfortable with everything you need. The directions were very accurate because this house would not have been easy to find. The house is clean and comfortable in a great neighborhood.

Stay here!!!!
Quaint little home nestled in a quiet neighborhood. The views are breathtaking. If listening to the waves hit the rocks and watching the ocean’s rhythm is your jam than this is perfect. We had a very active vacation and this was a great place to come and rest and relax after long hikes and ocean play. It is a bit out of the way for some attractions on the island but the drive was always part of the adventure for us. Seeing the greenery and homes around us made the drive interesting too. It is close enough to stores and pizza will deliver if you are not up to driving.

We loved this property! We were visiting friends in Pahoa and the property gave us a perfect home base just 10 mins from town and close to volcanoe park. The property is spacious with everything you need and the views are just spectacular!!

Filthy-avoid this property!
House was dirty (black mold on shower curtain, windows), ceiling fans, table lamps, & knick-knacks were crusted with dirt and dust, furniture was butt-sprung, uncomfortable, and difficult to get out of. House was poorly maintained (wobbly handrail on stairs, holes in window screens, rusted curtain rods). We abandoned it the 2nd day of a 5-day stay, and luckily found another property nearby. Very disappointed with VRBO to allow a property like this in their portfolio.

Oceanfront Property in Puna
The house was amazing. Went to sleep each night listening to the ocean (which is what my kids miss most). The view upon entering the house is unbelievable with waves crashing into the lava. We were very comfortable. One day we drove to Volcano National Park. Spent a day checking out the ocean front and the lava flows from 2018. The Farmer’s Market is not to be missed (handmade items and excellent food). Finally we spent a day on Hilo.

Great oceanfront House. needs a lot of work
We stayed here for Seven Nights at the end of February beginning of March 2023. It seems that the owners of the property don't fix things they just put a Band-Aid on things and hope that it works. We feel the property is run down and needs a lot of help from the vanity door not closing and the owner putting a towel across the top to keep it closed so it doesn't hit you in the head when you're brushing your teeth to the cabinet door in the kitchen literally falling off on my foot while we were there. The floor is old and wore out water damage everywhere. Whoever painted the place must have been about 6 years old it shows it's amazing how run down the house has gotten and they're not fixing it. Every room has something wrong from the water damage to the hot water not working you can take a warm shower you just can't take a hot shower and it only takes about 7 minutes for it to get warm. It's crazy the hot water heaters located in the garage. The front door is not secured at all there's a code that I'm sure everybody has and there's no deadbolt. The house is just falling apart who's ever maintaining it is not doing their job. It's unfortunate cuz it's a beautiful location. They should take some of the money they're getting from the customers and put it back into the house to repair things. I know it's tough to repair but it needs to be done. Living next to the ocean is a blessing and a curse we know that. I'm not trying to be mean I'm just trying to be truthful so the next couple or family understands what they're getting into before they rent the house.
