The Space:

There's a wonderfully eclectic spirit to this 1936 Palm Springs home. Vaulted white ceilings crossed by bold magenta beams, a monumental stone fireplace, and Southeast Asian-inspired details give the interiors personality, while generous windows bring the surrounding tropical gardens into view. It's a house designed for being together, with plenty of places to settle in, spread out, or slip away for a little quiet.



Outside, the grounds feel like a world of their own. Palms, agave, winding garden paths, and open lawns surround a collection of spaces for swimming, dining, lounging, and enjoying the mountain scenery. Three bedrooms occupy the main house, while an attached casita with its own entrance, kitchen, and living room offers additional independence. With four bedrooms and four bathrooms in total, Monkey Manor comfortably accommodates up to eight guests.

Settle into one of the cushioned loungers beneath an umbrella, take a swim, or move between the in-ground hot tub and sauna. With garden paths and pockets of shaded seating throughout the property, there's always another spot to discover.



Meals are especially inviting outdoors. A spacious pergola hung with Moroccan lanterns shelters a large dining table and lounge area, creating a beautiful setting for an evening together. Fire up the gas BBQ, enjoy dinner surrounded by greenery, then settle around the gas fire pit as the air cools. A second dining area on the front patio offers another place for quieter meals.



For a different perspective, follow the spiral staircase to the rooftop deck. From here, the surrounding palms give way to expansive views of the San Jacinto Mountains. It's a lovely place to watch the changing colors of the mountains or simply take in the Palm Springs landscape from above.



-Living Area-

The great room has the relaxed, expressive character of a home that's meant to be enjoyed. Vaulted ceilings rise above a mix of comfortable white seating and a generous leather sofa, while a floor-to-ceiling native stone fireplace provides a dramatic centerpiece. The dual-sided gas fireplace can be enjoyed from both the living room and the adjoining patio, extending the gathering space outdoors.



There's room for everyone to settle in for a movie on the 85-inch TV, catch a game, or spend an evening playing board games. Large windows bring in natural light and views of the garden, keeping the room connected to the landscape even when you're relaxing inside.



-Kitchen and Dining-

The kitchen is well suited to leisurely breakfasts, shared cooking, and dinners that stretch into the evening. White cabinetry, stone countertops, stainless steel appliances, and a generous breakfast bar provide plenty of space to prepare meals and keep the conversation going.



Both Keurig and traditional drip coffee makers are provided, along with coffee supplies for an easy start to the morning. The adjacent dining table seats eight, making it simple to gather everyone around one meal.



A separate carved wood cocktail bar overlooks the pool, adding a fun touch to afternoons and evenings at home. With outdoor dining beneath the pergola and on the front patio, you can choose a different setting for nearly every meal.



-Bedrooms and Bathrooms-

Three bedrooms are located in the main house, each featuring vaulted ceilings, generous windows, blackout curtains, and its own TV. The sleeping spaces have distinct personalities, with colorful textiles, warm wood furnishings, and garden views.



Bedroom 1 features a king bed, a blue upholstered chair, an ensuite bathroom, and doors opening directly to the garden. It's an inviting retreat for anyone who likes to step outside and enjoy the morning air.



Bedroom 2 offers a king bed and ensuite bathroom, with warm orange curtains adding character to the bright, comfortable space.



Bedroom 3 has two queen beds, making it a practical and welcoming arrangement for friends, siblings, or children sharing a room.



The home's fourth bedroom is located in the attached casita, described below.



All four bathrooms feature walk-in showers. A standout feature is the freestanding stone Bali bathtub in the main bathroom, accompanied by a carved double vanity and stone vessel sinks. It's a distinctive space for a long, relaxing soak after a day in the desert.

One of Monkey Manor's most useful features is its attached casita, which gives part of your group the freedom to enjoy a separate living space while staying close to everyone else.



Accessed through its own private entrance, a short walk through the backyard from the main house's sliding doors, the casita includes a king bedroom, a full bathroom, a comfortable second living room with a TV, and a separate kitchen. A dedicated desk also provides a convenient place to catch up on work or plan the day's activities.



Ductless mini-splits provide heating and cooling independently from the main house.



For two couples traveling together, extended family, or guests who prefer a little more personal space, the casita makes it easy to share the vacation without having to share every moment.
