Experience in Paris
My horrible experience at the flat in Paris from Sunday, November 10, 2024 at 6:15 P M until I departed on Wednesday, Nov 13 at 6:30 A M will be outlined. When we arrived at 6:15 P M both keys were in our possession. The lock on the door was broken, and we could see small pieces of wood in the chamber. While my family tried to remove the wood pieces, I called the host, leaving messages and sent emails. The host did not respond. During the evening we spoke with three different VRBO agents who tried to reach the host with out success. A friend called a locksmith who said he would come and he arrived at about 10:45 and replaced the lock and I paid him with my euros. We went to bed and someone come at the door to fix "our problem". I told him that I had done so and ask him to leave. I did not have a call from the host until Monday at 2 PM. Almost 20 hours from being locked out. The emotional toll on me and my family was devastating which prevented me from leaving the flat at all until I departed on Wednesday. VRBO reimbursed me for the 418 euros for the lock and 1/2 of the fee from Sunday night, which is not satisfactory. I expect to be compensated for the days of my holiday that were destroyed.
