This place failed.
The house served as shelter and is not well maintained. The cabinet and bedroom doors couldn’t close right and bathroom hardware was falling off along with paint on walls. Kitchen was not well equipped.
We arrived at 3:45p to the office to pick up keys. They said “it’s not 4pm yet as it’s a same day turnaround unit”. Jeesh, how close do they cut it with cleaning? I eventually was given keys and a door code (why is this necessary in an age of lockboxes and text). The keys turned out to be for a storage closet. Why are these keys simply not in the house? There was not even paperwork to sign requiring our presence. Ok.
Still, no big deal, we arrived ready to hop in the hot tub. We changed our kids who hopped in first after we all put on suits, only to find the water at 49F. It must be broken and they didn’t know, right? I called, “oh it’s a same day turn around and it was a drain day, you should be happy because it’s clean.” Ok.
I called and got a disinterested receptionist and asked for a call back from the manager to discuss the hot tub, as it was a priority feature for our trip.
I called again and got sent to a manager type, but the call disconnected. When I called back, a third voice shrugged us off. I messaged multiple times on the app with no reply. No reach back to this day. Ok, fine.
I had requested a late checkout for 11a and denied because it was on a same-day-turnaround. Worth noting, even if not, they charge a half-day fee and they told me I “wouldn’t want that”.
The maids showed up 45min early on checkout day and took up a parking spot. We came back from coffee and had to hunt for parking. The nice maintenance guy showed up early and also started his routine. The cleaners entered the property 15min early to start cleaning while we were still inside dressing our kids.
This company is completely focused on their bottom line with no consideration for repeat customers. This house is for wild bachelor parties at best. No one would notice the damage.
We’ve rented from many companies. Others have proactively refunded us nominally to acknowledge inconveniences like hot tub malfunctions. One even offered switching us to a different rental over a dishwasher.
The proximity to the resort is a strength. Maintenance guy, a close second. Staff seem under pressure. For the home owner, find a better company to service your investment. Avoid Alpine Ski Properties.
