I usually love staying at this hotel, but unfortunately this stay was different. We booked for two nights. The morning after the first night’s stay we wanted to shower up from our long drive. The water was a disgusting brown. We notified the front desk and were told that is was the city working in the area. When we later said we will be leaving and checking out, we were told maintenance worked on the boiler and did not flush all the lines. Strike one on management not informing reception to tell us at check in.
I was told the manager would work with Expedia to refund the second night and offer compensation for the water condition on the first night’s stay. Left my number but was never called back, strike two. I called that afternoon, but the manager was gone. Left a message for them and my number to call back. No call back the next day, strike three.
I had Expedia call and they talked to a manager named Jane. She refused to refund as I chose to check out. Strike four….. There’s no crying in baseball.
I later called the hotel and was told that Jane was gone for the day a mere 60 seconds later. I was forwarded to the HR Manager, also gone for the day and left a message.
Completely unacceptable for a hotel of this price point. Although the reception staff were kind and tried to be helpful, there was never a manager available and no one else that could help. Plus, the management refuses to talk to their guests.
