“We arrived later than planned, after contacting reception via intercom, advised which was our room and given code for keysafe, found that ( in the dark on adjacent wall, lighting not good but had phone torch ) and after finding room ( site not that well lit ) we opened the door by key only to find it already occupied !!! Key also rather alarmingly fitted a neighbouring room ( with a very similar room name so in the dark the confusion by the occupier in our room could be forgiven ) and as that...

“Pretty, short walking loop trail at the end of the road, by the river. Dozens of large eels ("tuna", in Maori) in the little stream under the riad, next to the motel. They come quickly if you have bits of meat to trow in for them to eat. No catching/fishing, though!”
