“This is a truly unique hotel, transformed from an old house and surrounded by various shops that add to the street’s historic charm. We stayed on the ground floor and had a wonderful experience—a spacious bedroom facing a small, traditional courtyard, with convenient hotel facilities nearby. One staff member spoke excellent English, and even the Japanese-speaking staff were very helpful, assisting us by calling our next hotel in Kaga Onsen to arrange a pick-up bus. The staff were always polite...

This time, really enjoyed the pure stream bath it was very warm and a comfortable place to chat with my husband. The food was delicious and healthy with many flavors and unlimited hokuriku rice! We were given slippers and traditional robes when we arrived and our luggage was carried to the room for us. Our room was very quaint with a whole tea setup prepared at the table. The dinner was an incredible, elaborate experience that we weren’t expecting. The gardens were beautiful and the hot springs were so relaxing. ”

“Our room was spacious and very clean. The private onsen was large and very comfortable, looking out over the river but completely private. We had the kaiseki dinner each night which was elaborate and delicious. The town of Yamanaka is very pretty with fun row of shops specialising in lacquer wear and pottery, some cafes, the usual restaurants and a big public men's and women's bath, along with a beautiful walk in the gorge along the river. All of this is within 5-15 minutes walk of the hotel....
