“Such a beautiful location and the hotel could do so much better. Disappointing as the windows in the room were dirty so it ruined the beautiful view. Bathroom ceiling had a hole and sheets had stains. The outside and lounge areas are lovely. ”

“Overall the property was what we expected. Ideal for two persons, doing local daytrips. Basic, safe, clean with a small kitchen, equipped for 2 persons. Clean linen and a comfortable double bed. Typical the apartments one would find in Europe. We did not use the loose blanket on the bed, but it is in need of a wash.”

“It’s a good 3 star hotel with lovely staff. With an injection of cash and more staff training (plenty available but lacking attention to detail) it could become a really good 4 star. The big let down was the poor shower and dated bathroom. But it’s one of those hotels that you just want to to do better ”

“Lovely lodge right on the beach. Quaint lodge rooms were very comfortable but ceilings are slopped so not good if you are tall. Brilliant shower but getting a little worn, still loved it. Food on the premises good and reasonable, friendly staff.”

“We enjoyed our stay at Thali Thali which was peaceful and quiet. The staff were especially friendly, welcoming and very responsive. Our accommodation was comfortable but some of the fixtures and fittings could probably do with refurbishment. All in all a very happy stay. ”

“We often visit but this was our first stay. Was disappointing that accommodation was on a difficult piece of land away from the restaurant and cultural heritage museum. Was too much effort early mornings to trek kms away for our paid breakfast so we didn't have any. Couldn't shower as all showers are outside (too cold to venture outside) and bath water didn't heat up. Furniture needs tlc. Headboard in main room was not clean. No microwave To heat a quick meal. “Alabaster Box certainly is doing something right! Besides the home being immaculately kept, the service is top notch. Upon entering my room I was met with the most beautiful scent of sandalwood. A small fridge, and kettle were available for my snacks and tea. The shower was absolutely amazing, and much needed after a long car ride! The balcony even had views of the lagoon. There’s a serene koi pond in the back, and pool as well. Most of all, I felt safe as a solo female. May God bless this...
