Easter break

We parked our truck and immediately headed to the beach where we beheld a beach with the whitest sand I'd ever seen. Parking was simple, Brooks and Shorey provided us with the door code via email along with a handy app with instructions. The property was as described with a lovely balcony overlooking the Gulf. The bedrooms and bathrooms were clean and adequate. It was very handy to have washer and dryer in the apartment with little kids in tow. Kitchen was new and appliances worked well. I've stayed in many VRBOs and must say this one is a little understocked in cooking supplies. We managed. The television in the Master bdr did not work. Appears someone before us attempted some "percussive maintenance" on it. Didn't report it only because I just now remembered. The tv in the living room also had ease of use issues. Not a big deal except we had a few days of inclement weather. The pool (to be heated through the end of our week) was PRETTY chilly and the kids were popsicles.. until Friday when it was heated to perfection and the kids didn't want to get out. All in all, though, I'd be more than happy to stay here again.

Incredible experience!

This condo was absolutely perfect for our family of 4! We had plenty of space and enjoyed everything! The beds were very comfortable, the balcony was wonderful and the view was spectacular! Aside from not having dish towels or hot pads in the kitchen I can’t think of a single recommendation I would make to improve our experience!

Great place, but slightly disappointing for cost

The view is beautiful and the condo is obviously very nice. But for the price, I was a little disappointed with some of the details. Usually when staying in beach-front condos at this price range, everything is perfect and delightful. This place had dirt/water stains on the ceilings in the main bedroom and bathroom, rust on the trash can in the main bathroom, the blinds were broken in the main bedroom, etc. And only the bare minimum in terms of comfort/luxuries were provided, I.e one pillow per person, and only one extra in the whole condo.

You can't beat the location. It was perfect for our family of 5. Easy access to pool and beach. Only real downside was the lack of cleanliness. There was mold in the water tank of the Keurig and there was lipstick on the rim of the glasses as well as dirty utensils. Every dish had a film of dust on it. It was easy enough to clean everything but we expect these items to be clean upon arrival. Also, the room is ready for a refresh. The pillows need to be replaced. We would stay here again based on location and overall condition of the resort.

Great getaway and condo

Check in was very easy. The condo was ready earlier than check in time. That would have been a bonus if we had gotten stuck in traffic. Opened the door to a clean beautiful place. You could tell it has been remodeled some what recently. Appliances were all new. Sheets and towels were all new! Location was fabulous! The only cons I had were kitchen could use a few more baking pans. Next was the carpet in living area and bedrooms. Carpet looked new! I’m just not a carpet person especially at the beach. Would I stay here again ABSOLUTELY!

Perfect location 👌

This is not the newest property in the area but is well kept and updated. The beach view and access is amazing. The immediate surrounding area is quiet but a close drive to everything you could need (food, shopping, activites, etc.)

Two year wedding anniversary trip

We come to Fort Walton/ Destin area every year to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We have stayed at this location the past two years The Islander. It's great location and beach access is so convenient. Would highly recommend this condo or any condo at this location. Condo unit itself was nice, beds were comfortable and pretty much had everything we needed. Only thing I would rate poorly but no deal breaker because your outside mostly enjoying the beach and area. The couches are not relaxing not comfy for long period of time. And the TVs in unit could use a upgrade. The one in master bedroom we had hard time getting on. But again no deal breaker. Just thought I would mention. But overall great place and highly recommend!

Very specious and updated condo. Perfect for vacation

Overall we had a great vacation. Unit was relatively clean and nice. Our only problem was we had 3 pairs or shoes stolen at various times from the pier/beach access while we were within 10-15 feet. Lesson learned not to leave shoes/flip Flops.

We loved staying at the Islander!

This condo had everything we need. It was perfect. The enormous balcony was the biggest we have ever seen. Our group of 6 could all chill out there comfortably with seats and room to spare. The upgraded appliances were very nice. The rooms were all decorated so beachy and cute. We had a great week long stay.
