** RENTER BEWARE **I originally rented the Bumble Bee Cottage from 1/28/26 through 1/31/26 (spoiler: I left 1/30 because of the nastiness described below). The cottage looked decent at first glance.I was tired from a long travel day, so I prepared for bed after eating dinner. When I went to pull back the comforter from the bed, I discovered first that the white pillows had VARIOUS TYPES OF HAIRS on the pillowcases and sheets! One pillowcase had a red stain. I ended up having to go to Walmart to buy bedding at 10:00 PM so I had somewhere clean to sleep (the couch was stained). I recorded a video and took photos of the bedding. Removing the sheets revealed a blood-stained mattress (no mattress cover) and badly stained pillows.I wrote to the host, Xenia Living, to document this experience that very night. They essentially told me I was lying, saying I was wrong, and that they have pictures from their cleaners. I called them, and the woman speaking started to backtrack. She said to text the pictures and video (unable to update on Vrbo app) to their number, and they will get back to me. I have not received a response from them and have been ignored.I called Vrbo on 1/29/26 for any sort of recourse, but I was told I had to wait for the host company to reply. Xenia Living has ignored me. I ended up leaving a day early and drove the hours back to my home because I had no place to reside and did not want to stay another moment in that dirty home. RENT AT YOUR OWN RISK!
