I am not a lake person, but my wife and kids are......and this place is PERFECT for both. We have already booked it again for next year.
1. The pictures and descriptions are right on....accurate. The whole place is beautiful.
2. The house is great. We didn't need all of the space with just 4, but used it. If you have a larger group, there is plenty of room. The house has everything you need for cooking, playing games, relaxing, etc. It was extremely clean. And having full size washers and dryers is so key with wet clothes each day. The washer is HUGE and did all our clothes easily. Also, the wifi was a great help as I need to do a little work and the access and speed made that easy. Great movie watching with family at night with the big screen downstairs.
3. The lake front is great. Awesome for fishing from the dock, swimming, playing in the sand, hanging out, taking the kayak/paddleboat out onto a medium size lake, etc. Not a great deal of boat traffic, so perfect for kids and fishing. And there is plenty of toys for kids, shovels, pails, boats, etc. for use. Well thought out.
4. Location is near perfection. While feeling completely isolated and away from the world, you are 10 minutes to the grocery store, hardware store, gas, supplies, golf, mini-golf, boat rental on the Whitefish Chain, etc. And if you want to have fun shopping, Breezy Point and Pequot Lakes are just 20 minutes away (great street fairs on the weekend). Another 10 minutes to Nisswa.
5. Hosts - Amanda and AJ are wonderful. We thought we might need gas for the grill....and so we texted them. They responded within minutes with multiple options. When we knew we wanted to come back again, we texted again. Immediate response. Never met them, but by the communication you would love to have them as family or neighbors.
Not a single complaint. We will be back again next year.
