The area of Calambrone has seen better days but not far up the road is the marina Pisa which was better. The apartment is on the beach separated by trees and therein lies the problem the sand flies. We got terrible bites despite spraying ourselves constantly. The period we visited mid September is end of season and we didn't realise many places would be shut. We would have gone out on the bikes but the ladies saddle was too high and Roberto was not able to help us here.
It is pleasant to have an apartment on the beach but the bites were a big problem. The flat needs a little bit of refurbishment particularly the soft furnishings which need replacing also both showers.
