This is a beautiful building and lovely location (pretty neighborhood and close to CMU and shops/restaurants). Parking is safe, easy and free. The staff was the opposite of welcoming-- surly and annoyed and I'm not sure why. We were checked in as four people and provided only three towels, three pillows, two plastic cups and one roll of toilet paper. I did not dare to ask for more because of the attitude from staff at check in. There is no coffee in lobby in the morning and the in-room coffee is sad coffee. The rooms are charming but in need of some updates.

Stay in the guilded age without being the great gatsby. Swank property where you can easily imagine being back in the roaring 20s. Super convenient to visit CMU and they also had a great breakfast

The front desk lady didn’t have my reservation in her system, told me they are fully booked, no rooms available. I insisted that I have a reservation. She called her manager and finally figured it out. Not as smooth as I would like. The place is great otherwise.

This is a beautiful place!! Inside and out. I was in awe the whole visit. The staff including the bartender are very nice and helpful I will definitely go back when I revisit Pittsburgh

Thank your for your feedback. Upon inspection we found both (2) deadbolts on your door to your room to be fully operational. Additionally while the paneling on the door has a small seam it does not pose any serious risk to functionality, structural integrity, or security. We will have our maintenance engineer fill the seam and thank you for bringing this to your attention.

We booked this hotel and when we reached the hotel for check in, they did not let us in as there was a wedding on their premises. They said no rooms were available and the parking lot was full. They overbooked themselves and did nothing to help us out. Luckily, Expedia (especially Koena and Ursula) helped us out and made rebooked us at the Oaklander that night. Will never go the Mansion on Fifth again.

Our hotel has not had inventory open for booking for the specific date of your arrival for many months. We will be pursuing this issue with Expedia's support team to determine why false inventory would be showing on their site. My boyfriend and me stayed at the Mansion on Fifth. We loved the loft style king room. Super unique, quiet, and comfortable. The only issue we had was we wanted coffee that was fresh and not from the tiny little machine located in the room. There was coffee and food available from 10 am till maybe ten thirty am. We missed our coffee! There was only one staff member the entire time with the exception of one cleaning lady while we were checking out.

Stayed in smaller house next to the mansion. It was still very cool. However, the mansion was booked for a wedding so we did not have access to it until late in the evening- too late for us. Would have been ok if we knew that when we booked it, but there was nothing about that on listing. …Bwd was very comfortable, but sofa bed for my son was pretty bad. …Great restaurant choices 1/2 mile walk.

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay at Mansions on Fifth. It's a beautifully restored historic property in a great location. Everything was spotless and well-maintained. Staff were friendly and helpful. We used the small gym and the breakfast was delicious.

Very cool property with amazing architecture and spacious room. Quality of bed linens could be better. Window blinds very dirty but room was otherwise clean. Views amazing. Just a little more attention to detail would have earned better rating but overall we enjoyed our stay. Pub awesome although we didn’t have time to enjoy. Would likely stay again.

Avoid nights with events!
A large event left is without parking! The same event had a loud after-party in the room below us with thumping music (by 1:30 AM, I think the staff should have shut it down)

Hi Laurie,Thanks for providing this feedback. We are sorry to hear that another guest was not behaving respectfully and it caused a disturbance to other hotel guests. You are correct that the day you stayed with us there was a group staying on site for an event. The guests for this group were specifically only reserved in the other building however which we require of guests that book events in our houses so we may avoid these disturbances to any guests not attending an on site function. We do have quiet hours which we do our best to enforce. It does not appear that the overnight staff was aware of this situation prior to your checkout or would would have been happy to address the situation. We will use your feedback to better train our staff to ensure this does not occur again in the future.

Parking was awful, we didn’t realise we weren’t in the main house which was the reason we chose, our room had an ant problem and admittedly they did credit our account a percentage for that. Housekeeping made our bed but nothing else, left ant filled cups, didn’t refresh towels or empty trash. Staff were mostly uninterested in us. Facilities don’t warrant it being called a luxury hotel.
