“Waterland is a small resort of around 5 individual villas on the banks of a river. We stayed in Elephant villa which has a small, private pool and decking area. We loved the indoor/ outdoor bathroom with fish! The area is quiet and great for just sitting and watching the wildlife. Food is eaten in a small restaurant and although choice is limited, the quality was great. The staff were friendly and helpful. Slight downsides... The resort is really tucked away ,so be sure your taxi driver knows...

“This property rescued 14 cats and 2 dogs and they all stay by the pool, which means you will be in good company. We liked everything about Villa Kapuru- it is nice, small and clean place, located 10 mins on foot from the beach and the restaurants! I would book again.. ”

“We stayed here for 1 night, we arrived at 6 am and our room was booked for the night, but we were lucky and wer able to check in early and get some extra sleep after a long flight. The amenities were amazing, and the staff incredibly kind. Also breakfast was Very good!! I loved that The bed sheets smelled so clean - Everything was Super!”

“El hotel es espectacular, muy bien cuidado, precioso y en un entorno increible. Muy buena elección y buena relación calidad/precio. El desayuno está muy bien. No contratamos media pensión pero para cenar hay a unos 400 metros del hotel, en la carretera varios sitios que estaban bien y donde cenamos muy a gusto. La piscina está abierta hasta tarde así que puedes llegar de las excursiones y darte un baño. Las habitaciones son amplias. ”

“We'd recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Negombo. It's in a perfect location for exploring and had a great pool which was an added bonus. The staff were so friendly and helpful and the breakfast was delicious. We could walk into Negombo to the local restaurants and cafes and it was a perfect start to our holiday. The rooms were well kept and clean! Thank you!”

“The staff really make this place. The owner was very welcoming and they even let us stay until 6pm the day we were checking out at no additional cost as we had a late flight. The hotel was comfortable and good value for money.”

“What a perfect start to a holiday in Sri Lanka. The staff were incredible and this hotel is beautifully located on the beach. We loved taking time to relax and also wonder up the beach to see the local fisherman bringing their catch in. We even had a beautiful meal under the stars. Would 100% recommend!”
