Because of this, when winds from north blow (Vento Maestrale) most of them favorite the western sea (Mar Ionio) looking for a calmer situation. Of course the other way round happens when southern winds blow (Scirocco). This tower is called Torre dell'Orso and it's one the favorite places for locals to relax on the Adriatic side of Salento
