Josh is an excellent host and his girlfriend, Mariela, is an great cook. We enjoyed a delicious breakfast (gallo pinto/eggs), fab dinner (Arroz con Pollo) and the best pina coladas ever! The river/estuary views are every changing with the tides. Overall, it's a hidden paradise in a typical Costa Rican neighborhood.”

“BUYER BEWARE No hot water and beach is dirty. I contacted Vacasa before confirming reservation to verify had hot water due to previous review. I was told I would have hot water but never did. The pool water was warmer than the shower. The company was notified as soon as we knew there was no hot water. Beach is very dirty due to ships waiting to get into port and dumping garbage while waiting. We did see monkeys and birds which were beautiful. Sorry for the bad review I tried to work with you.”

Cori the property manager was so helpful with setting up all our activities, everyone showed up and picked us up to take us to our tours as promised. “The house was great, it was big enough to accommodate 4 adults and 4 kids ranging from 7 to 12. There is air conditioning in the bedrooms but not in the main house which at times could be very warm. “The house was huge and the property was right on the beach! Mauricio was very helpful for anything we needed. There was also dogs and a cat on the property (outside) which we loved too. The property was well secured and the house also has an alarm system but didn’t have to worry about it at all. Overall was an amazing experience and can’t wait to come back!”

“We loved La Colina de Carolina! It was like a treehouse oasis—beautiful landscape, cozy cabina with everything you need, lovely porch and awesome pool and view. Howler monkey alarm clocks, which we didn't mind. We had family staying down in town who were able to give us rides up the steep hill, though we did walk down with our kids a few of the mornings (15-20 min walk).
