In addition to providing materials to help get us up and running, they also brought us apple bananas and sleepytime tea to calm our nerves. What a perfect example of the aloha spirit!The room was comfortable, the coffee was strong, and the water pressure in the shower was perfect! We even got to try a chili pepper from their garden!What could have been a near disaster...

“Nice little condo, stocked with most things you would need in a kitchen and bathroom necessities. Only complaint would be floors and counters were dusty and we needed to clean floors and wipe counter tops and furniture down. But other than that enjoyed staying there, very close to Hana bay.”

“This studio was very clean and had a comfy bed, lovely large deck (not a balcony) and a beautiful garden path for walking through the flowering trees and bushes. This made it feel private and removed from the rest of the surrounding houses, each with a large lot. We sat on the deck for meals, and one time caught a beautiful sunset. We were honored to receive fruit from Mitsuko, most of which had been harvested from her own trees. She was a lovely host and we hope to see her again!”

“Great location and well stocked quirky and old-school funky apartment! Loved it, and was a perfect base for the three of us for a week in Hilo! Not a fancy place, but had everything we needed and was well stocked and had nice touches like a lot of plugs around! Nice and helpful host, too! Would stay again on a return trip!”

“I loved staying at Maggie’s studio in Hilo. It was really clean and spacious. There were plenty of parking and I like the usage of having a kitchen and the convenience of a washer and dryer. I would come back and stay here again the next time I’m back at the big island. ”
