The lobby and restaurant are clean and attractive. The restaurant has a great view of the river. For the money this place is incredible. The bathtub/shower is clean & deep (great for soaking a sore body. i have worked in this business and admire this hotel. We travel to Montana annually, so we'll be back. In the restaurant Tallie took great care of us & the food was very good.

I stay in nice hotels like this one all the time; but I have a question, why do all the toilets have loose seats, is there not anyone around to tighten up the seats on the toilets???

Sadly Templins has gone down hill. This was once a gem to stay at. Mildew in the sink, black (dirty) grout, single coat painted walls, slashed curtain, broken bathroom knob, broken door lock and a domestic violence dispute next room over. The lobby looks nice but rooms are in need of a complete makeover.

The staff was very kind. There are two buildings on the property I’m sure the views from the first one are great. The second building could really use an update to the rooms. If you have someone staying in the room next to you expect to hear all of their conversations.

Have stayed at this older property numerous times. I seek it out because, being older, it is a great bargain. Still clean, quiet in off-season, and comfortable. Being older, there are minor quirks, like variable shower/bath temps. Staff is great. Like everywhere, staffing is an issue. The same lady that checked us in about 4:30 pm, checked us out at 7:30 am...and had been on duty the entire evening.The restaurant was great, but menu was trimmed and they were at 1 chef on a Saturday. So it took a while. We were informed up front thing were slow and could easily go into town with numerous options within 2 or 3 miles.

The lobby is beautiful! The staff was friendly and very helpful. You sure can’t beat the beautiful river view!!! I would say that they really need to update their rooms. The sheet rock had numerous gouges in both bedroom and bathroom. The carpet was pretty worn. Cleaning the room every 3 days isn’t really enough. Overall, it was a pleasant stay.

The best part of this hotel was the free Tesla charging. Because there’s outside access to the rooms, guests smoke just outside their room. This then also fills the hallways. It’s gross. The room was clean enough and the staff I spoke to were kind and helpful. The beds were comfortable and supportive enough. The kids enjoyed the pool.

The staff is wonderful. Room was clean. The bed wasn’t the most comfortable but sufficed. Fridge freezer’s desperately need to be defrosted. No coffee maker in the room (suite). Having a bar and restaurant on the premises is always nice. Food was okay, drinks were great. The place needs some love. Paint is flaking and peeling on the outside and room could use some paint among other things. We love staying here because it’s peaceful, w/beautiful views and in a convenient location.

Check-in people were great. Carpet in room wasn't vacuumed. No coffee maker. No continental breakfast. Coffee in lobby was luke warm. No towels by pool. Room could use some updating. Overpriced for what you get.

The pros and cons
This hotel is in a beautiful location on the river. We used to stop often because of their pool, good restaurant and location but the rooms have become very dated. Still, the employees are friendly and helpful and the rooms clean and comfortable. Too bad Red Lion doesn’t bring do some remodeling.

We felt safe parking our truck and trailer for the night. The staff gave great service, bar and food in the hotel was amazing as well. Hot tub big enough for multiple people. Overall, very satisfied we will be back for sure. River view upgrade is definitely a must, the suite had a little patio out the back door, simply amazing view in the fall.
