  • Newly renovated lower level in the heart of Preston. 2 bedrooms, living area with private entrance.TV/Netflix. Fridge, microwave,coffee pot and toaster. Garage for bikes, snowmobiles!

    Perfect for wedding guests,&concert goers. So much to see and do in SE Minnesota! Biking,Fishing,Hiking and Golf. Lanesboro is 6 miles away. Across the street from Branding Iron Supper Club. Feel free to use garage space for bikes as well. Forestville State Park 15 mn away!Perfect for snowmobiling with a heated garage you are welcome to use. I really try to be accommodating, so message me with any last minute reservations and I will see if Ican make it work!

The Root River Retreat was a very comfortable place to stay. From the welcoming of homebaked cookies to the comfort of the couch and bed, this place was a great home base for our visit with family in SE Minnesota. Great location and convenient to find. Parking was easy with a dedicated driveway space. Garage to store things if needed during your stay. Kitchenette had enough for us to function well. Would stay again and would recommend for others.

Driveway parking, no steps, 2 nice bedrooms; no kitchen sink, use bathroom sink to get water, nice coffee maker with water supply and coffee

This location was great and very accommodating. We brought our family for a weekend away, and the host was kind, communicative, and provided nice touches. We would absolutely stay again, if provided the opportunity.

The host was clearly available and accessible, but was not intrusive. While the space is compact, it had what we needed and lots of space to store my bike while we were there.

The location was very central to the areas we wanted to visit. The vacation apartment was well appointed and suited our needs perfectly. My friend and I would highly recommend the Root River Retreat.

Perfect for Bicyclists

Clean, comfortable (great mattresses/pillows), safe, 2 bedroom, garage. Close to Root River beautiful paved bicycle/hiking trail and good restaurants/shops.

Lovely Get Away

This was the perfect location for us to enjoy the areas offerings - biking, shopping, parade (in nearby Harmony), etc. We appreciated the simple check-in, welcoming atmosphere (complete with cookies), and clean and beautifully decorated space.

Awesome!

I came to the area for biking, it was very hot and coming back here was so nice and relaxing! Located in a quiet neighborhood, close to anything you would need. Would definitely stay here again!

Very Nice Place!

We were needing a place to stay in the area for business. This place was the only thing available at the time and ended up being a great place to stay. The Host was very easy to work with and very welcoming.

This place was comfortable ans easily accessible for fiding and parking. Be aware that there is no kitchen. They have a small fridge and a microwave in the living room. Also a few dishes and silverware. If you are planning to eat out, it works. It has a super big TV, with free movies on all the apps. The beds are comfy. You can adjust the heat to your liking. And there is plenty of outdoor fun to be had.

Bike trip

We loved our weekend getaway, and we loved our place. It had everything we needed, the location was perfect, and the price was affordable. My ten year old granddaughter thought it was the best ever!

Long Family Weekend

The neighborhood was quiet and great location to visit the many attractions in the area. We went to Lanesboro & Mystery Cave, and this was the perfect middle location. We ate lunch at B&B Bowling and it was great! Highly recommend it.

South Eastern MN Gem

The property could not have been more perfect. We had everything we needed and Lori went above and beyond to make sure our stay was comfortable. The location was convenient to many amenities and fun things to do. If you’re looking for a place to stay that has all the comforts of home this is the place for you.

Driftless Area Motorcycle Visit

This VRBO was a wonderful retreat while we where in the area motorcycling. Our host, Lori, even allowed us to park our motorcycles in the garage to protect them overnight from the weather. We would certainly stay with Lori again.

Clean, cozy, and convenient.

We came to ride the bike trails and had a wonderful stay! Clear communication, clean and comfortable accommodations. We had everything we needed for our bike adventuring:)
