Very homey
We have stayed in this house before and with my 83yr old father and my 92yr old father in law it felt comfortable for them with our dogs they were not cramped in a hotel room and they really enjoyed the squirrel that came up on the porch we all really enjoyed our stay and we will be back

Quaint cottage
It is a very quaint little cottage. It is on a very twisty turning road to get to but when there it is very cute. East to get to Animal Care Center Princeton WV, Dr. Browns office. Has everything you need. Will stay again.

Overnight Stay
This place is cute and there is a good amount of space for three people and a small dog. It worked great for the limited amount of time that we had. This was a last minute booking and we are glad we choose this place!

Great spot and close to attractions
We enjoyed our stay at Red Bird Cottage. The space was clean and as expected. Close to Winterplace (about 20 minutes) and Pipestem Park (about 10 minutes). We would stay again.

Very nice cottage, enjoyed our stay here. Weather conditions made for some dicey drives to/from the slopes (in our non 4-wheel drive car), but our host was excellent with communication and helped us get where we needed to go safely!

Nice cottage
Very clean and warm cottage during a winter stay. Also being dog friendly rental was a great plus for a last minute stay while traveling back from Ohio to see family.

Great dog friendly cottage
We had a great stay! It was a super quick overnight stop on our Thanksgiving trip. We were thankful to find a dog friendly spot because our dogs don't do well in hotels.

Red bird cottage - fits it's name

Adorable property
Sad to say, we could only stay one night! My husband and our teenage son were in town for a class reunion. This property is incredibly convenient to Concord University and the town of Athens. It is a great launch point for Pipestem State Park, Hinton, West Virginia, and Princeton, West Virginia. Lots to explore in the area! The property was very clean, and comfortable. The pantry was well stocked with necessities, and there was plenty of cookware and flatware for use. Directions were easy and the property manager was very easy to reach. We will definitely be back as we are back in the area a few times a year. So glad to find some thing other than a stale hotel room.

Cute little cottage.
Very clean. Loved the door wall. Enjoyed our stay, but not a dog-friendly walking neighborhood. Disappointed that there was no coffee.

Shirley, I'm sorry there was no coffee. That is always something I keep for guests, and I didn't realize it was out. I left a number for you to call and I wish you had called, I certainly would have gotten coffee for you. I try to make guests comfortable, and to do that communication is important. A beautiful cottage, with access to all, shopping, state park, and restaurants.
Anita is a wonderful lady, with a great smile. She welcomed us to her cottage and has a picture of her which has her background of her events in her life. She also has a scrapbook of close adventures and restaurants.

very cozy, close to CU campus. suggest a new mattress in master bedroom..."depressed" in middle, so kept rolling into middle from sides! In a double bed with two people - not so great!!

Sorry you had a bed not to your liking. It is a queen bed not a double. I had a firm mattress and people complained it was too firm so I got a topping to make it less firm, some poeple like it some do not. Glad you had a good stay otherwise. Thanks, Anita

Cute & Quaint
The property was very cute, owner was very sweet! We built fires every night and had s’mores. Lots of fun outdoor things to do in the area!

Love Staying At Red Bird Cottage

Mostly positive. Thick dust in corners, etc. Windows were opened as requested, but two had no screens, so flying insects were inside.

James, how did you see dust in the corners??? My cleaning lady is very good, We go out of our way to make you comfortable, you wanted the windows open and no screens means someone has damaged them trying to open them. I don't know why you want windows open when there is a ceiling fan and I can air the house by turning a fan on in the furnace. The only thing I can say when people nit pick, is find a place that suits you better.

Very nice stay!
We enjoyed our stay in the Red Bird Cottage so much! Very clean, comfortable and inviting. Felt like home. It was so serene sitting on the porch and watching the birds. We also had a quick visit from a deer. I would definitely stay again on my next visit up. Hostess was so easy to communicate with and quick to respond. This was just a simple, comfortable cottage and that's what I liked about it.

Great place to stay
We were looking for a overnight stay returning from Myrtle Beach to Ohio and this was perfect! It's a small property, but very cute and extremely clean. The back deck was a wonderful place to sit and relax after a day on the road. The birds were pretty active in the morning eating at all of the feeders.

Wonderful cabin!
Lovely cabin, clean with back porch that opens up to the woods. Do yourself a favor and fill the bird feeders on the back porch and watch all sorts of beautiful birds come to visit. Anita is wonderful!

Comfy!
It was exactly what we needed. A comfortable and quiet place that was well equipped and close to the family business we were taking care of.. The only thing is that the TV seemed to only get 4-5 channels, all local. Maybe we didn’t know how to operate it and it was not a big deal. We extended our stay by a day which tells you how much we enjoyed it. BTW, getting the extension thru VRBO was not as easy as it should have been but that’s on them. Our host was extremely attentive and helpful.

This is a very comfortable, well furnished, and interestingly decorated two-bedroom home. It is located 15 to 45 minutes drive from beautiful state parks, waterfalls, and New River Gorge National Park.

The Feeling of Comfort

Great stop on our road trip
We were heading from the Midwest to the beach and wanted to explore the WV mountains. This was close to some great Easy hiking trails and waterfalls. My kids LOVED watching the birds come to the feeders by the porch. We watched for hours and identified all of the different species. The cottage was clean and had all the extra things In case something was forgotten. We’ll stay again if we’re in that area.

Another Delightful Stay
We stayed here a couple weeks ago on our way to the beach in NC. We chose to stay again on our way back home. We found the house clean and welcoming just like before. Communication with Anita is always pleasant and helpful. She even had the lights on for us when we arrived since she knew we were coming in late. This was a very nice and inviting touch after a long day of driving with little ones. If we are ever in the area again, we would definitely stay again.

Perfect stop on our Vacation travels
We stopped here on our way to the beach in NC. This was so much better than staying at a hotel. The price is great, the neighborhood was quiet, and we loved starting our morning on the deck listening to the birds. We were very pleased with the cleanliness of the home. This was very important to us. Anita was very easy to communicate with, and provided good instructions regarding directions and check-in instructions. We are going to stay here again on our way back home, and we all agreed that we are looking forward to it. It’s so nice to have an actually home to stay at after a full day of traveling with small children.

Cozy and charming stay for a weekend getaway skiing trip.
