We tend to stay at very nice places on VRBO and for the money this place was a bit of a letdown. Upon arrival we had trouble locating it, The house is not properly marked. There’s no address and there’s no name on the house. The property manager referred to it as “Salt Life” but on the ad it says the “Bight” which no one knew why?
My wife and I found a lot of dark long hairs on the floor throughout the house and in the downstairs bathroom.
The couches in the living room were filthy, dirty and stained. We covered them with pool towels in order to sit down on them. The photos show a small pool and hot tub which was a draw for us however, when I asked why the hot tub wasn’t hot I was told it was an additional $50 per day to heat it.
This was not mentioned anywhere in the ad, and to us felt a bit deceiving. On the last day I asked for the hot tub to be turned on. It never got warm enough to go into. They did offer to refund me the money for the hot tub when I told them. I decided to use one of the bikes, one day for a ride, which was great. However, the next morning when I went out to use it again there was a flat tire. I realize this is not their fault, however, when I called the property manager to explain what happened she said we’ll get someone over there to fix it. 24 hours went by and it was never fixed. For the money spent on this house we should’ve just stayed at the Ritz Carlton & will next year.
