The room I stayed in was near the road and boiler/ air conditioning so it was very noisy so I slept very badly. The fire alarm went off early in the morning and we didn't get any information from the staff so didn't know if it was safe to return to our rooms. Although geographically it worked well I wouldn't stay there again.”

“When you stay at the Maids Hotel, the one thing that is fixed in your mind is “stairs” unless you can cope with stairs at every turn, this is not the hotel for you. This is because the hotel is a heritage building and it doesn’t lend itself to easy step free access. “Convenient if travelling by train, beds made once during 4 night stay, cleaned once during the same time. Sink had come away from the wall and the shower was leaking sufficiently that I isolated the power. Had to ask for clean towels and water for the kettle”
