“It's not really the owner's fault at all but the place is built on a rather treacherous bit of mountainside in the Shenandoah. The website doesn't really give much warning about this and there isn't any sort of guardrails. There is a hell of a 'pucker factor' getting to and from the location as it's just one lane. But once you get there- My GOSH! So beautiful-- so inviting.. and so, so so sooo cozy! Makes it all worthwhile!! As I said before, unless a millionaire wants to donate $$$$$$...

“Thierry and Jessica were phenomenal hosts. This B&B is a perfect spot in the Shenandoah Valley. My wife and I enjoyed the amenities and the hospitality. Very easy walk to downtown Lexington which has numerous shops and dining options, plus the history of two great collegiate institutions and the legendary Stonewall Jackson. We loved every minute here and are excited to return again in the future. Merci!”

“We pulled in at 5pm and were promptly greeted by Bill (Judie's husband). He checked us in and gave us a brief tour of the building and the farm. Our room was spacious and well appointed, and the bathroom with the slipper claw foot tub was very nice. It was modern but maintained much of the character we appreciate. Breakfast was excellent, and included an impromptu lesson from Bill on (re)construction of the premises. Unfortunately Judie was under the weather, so we didn't get a chance to meet...

“Fenton Inn is a cute little bed and breakfast. The service and food were both great. Our room was comfortable and exactly as described. I would highly recommend it for anyone who wants to get away for a weekend.”

“The rooms at this place are all very different so it would pay to look first and see which one you are getting bc there are some REALLY cluttered ones (as were ours) and then some others that were super streamlined and nicer! In addition, it was interesting that for a place from which many are traveling, breakfast was not available until 9 am! Although the innkeeper did accomadate us by providing to go breakfasts, I just thought it was a little odd! ”

“People were absolutely awesome at the Good Place B&B. I felt so welcomed during my entire stay, from checking in to check in out and every breakfast in between, which were great and delicious by the way. A great place to spend a few days away in nature, but a close drive to many historic locations and natural attractions in the area. The rooms amenities could use some improvement (new towels and linen come to mind). Other than that, I would definitely stay here again. ”

“We were disappointed with our stay at the Buckhorn Inn. I had called the owner in the morning to let them know of our time of arrival and nobody was there to unlock the door for us. After waiting for twenty minutes we drove to the next restaurant to call them, since there is no cell phone reception at the Inn. Lucky for us, the owner happened to have dinner there but she barely apologized. Decor Is also extremely outdated and the breakfast was very mediocre as well. The Inn is currently for...

“The Valley Extended Suites is a clean, modern hotel that provides good value. Whether for a few days or just overnight, it has what is needed for an enjoyable stay. The only issue we had was with the thermostat on the HVAC system. While the system worked adequately, we had to turn the desired temperature way down (62 degrees) before the room was comfortable enough to sleep. Once we figured that out, it worked fine, but when we set it at the temp we wanted (68/69 degrees), the room was still...

“This was such a peaceful, perfect location with an incredible view up on the mountain! It was like an escape from the real world and felt so refreshing. My gaming-obsessed 12 year old son said he would give up games if we could move there 😂 The hosts were great and very responsive and we had no issues with anything. The cabin was clean and comfortable. The first night we were there we made tinfoil dinners on the campfire and then s'mores afterwards. The stars are amazing outside of the city...
