Are Meika (Banana House)

Si desea la experiencia auténtica de vivir en Rarotonga con paz, tranquilidad y relajación total, este es el lugar para usted. Are Meika (Banana House) se ha ampliado y renovado y está situada en una calle tranquila y sellada que termina en un callejón sin salida en el área de Aremango, Ngatangiia.

Capturando el viento fresco y predominante del sudeste, la casa está a cinco minutos a pie de la carretera principal donde se detienen los autobuses de la isla y otros cinco minutos a la playa más cercana en Muri. Are Meika se encuentra en un medio acre entre bananos. Tiene pisos de concreto pulido y es de construcción de ladrillos de concreto (fresco en el clima cálido) y tiene amplias terrazas orientadas hacia el norte y el oeste para proteger contra el sol de la tarde. Wonderful home away from home

Thanks so much, a wonderful 15 day stay. It was a great location, lovely quiet surrounds but close to Muri lagoon and cafes/restaurants. House is much larger that it seems on listing. Good quality comfortable beds, all amenities that would be required. Handy to have kitchen , dining and lounge etc. The kids loved staying.we would come again.

No bananas but lots of coconuts.

Great location .Lots of coconuts to eat and drink. Take your own hard drive if you want to watch movies. Handy to Muri beach. We had a rental car but you could walk to beach and use bus to get around.

Another enjoyable stay. This is our second time staying at Are Meika…We LOVE staying here! It has everything we need - lots of linen, washing machine, soace, privacy, great location. We’ll definitely book here again.

Great stay

Stayed for two weeks. Easy to stay there and to cook meals. Kitchen and outlet operations were not usual for Americans. Was a bit confusing. Replaced kitchen cabinets which was needed. Looks great now. Easy walk to town.

Are Meika - The banana house.

My bestie and I travelled to Rarotonga for the International Triathlon Festival. We wanted somewhere private and close to our main event. The banana house was everything we needed. A lovely large home off the main road with all the amenities. Plenty of linen, washing machine, large living areas for our sports equipment. Take a chrome cast with you if you like watching Netflix etc and buy a SIM at the airport 👍🏽 We will definitely be back and highly recommend Are Meika - Meitaki Mata x

Love the banana house!

Second time staying here. Love it. Awesome for the family. Space for kids to play inside and out. When issues arose Eddie dealt with them straight away. Had a fantastic trip!

Great place to stay

An easy 5/10 minute walk to beach, cafes, restaurants and the bus. Quiet place to relax and recharge. The house had everything we needed and more. Great communication from Eddie, quick to answer questions etc. Eddie's holiday house is great value for the money.

Relaxing Stay

Communication with host Eddie was easy, prompt & accommodating. Really enjoyed our stay, very clean & spacious house, with all the house supplies you would need & is close enough to main road in Muri. No negatives to staying except it was too short a stay. Wonderful stay in Muri!

A fantastic place to stay for the week. Two adults, two children, plenty of space for all of us. Close to lots of highlights and far enough from main road etc to enjoy peace and quiet. Will definitely stay here again and recommend to others. :)

A Perfect Home.

After spending 4 weeks during Christmas at Are Meika, we decided that we really could not find anything to complain about. Sure, there are things that don't work the same as your home back where you come from, but it's not your native home. The neighbourhood is quiet and peaceful, aside from some chickens and mynas. The place is spacious, cool and well appointed. There is a close shop for cool drinks, snacks and some groceries in a pinch. Muri lagoon is a short walk for beaches. We rented a car for bigger town shopping and snorkeling around the island and the bus stops at the bottom of street on the main road. Cleaning up after yourself helps keep the ants at bay and the mosquito netting allows you to keep the windows open for cool breezes. There is passionfruit at the entrance to the property for morning vitamins. I've traveled before but this was the first trip with my young family and everyone was completely satisfied. I can only return to my opening comment and say that there is nothing to complain about Are Meika.

Home away from home

our stay at paere house could not have been more perfect! It had everything we needed, beds are comfortable, it’s spacious, quiet, perfect for families and the kitchen is well equipped. The house is directly across the road from one of the best snorkelling spots on the island, a short drive/walk to muri markets. Our host was amazing and very accommodating. We would definitely stay here again! Thank-you so much Eddie!
