The resort seems to be distinctly divided into 2. The old part (ex-Hilton prior renovation) and the newly built part which mostly spreads down along the beautiful beach.
Having finally arrived following a long flight and 1.5 hour taxi transfer we were most disappointed to find our names not being known to security at the entrance gate. This was then followed by drop-off at what seemed like a backdoor reception room. I was adamant we had been brought to the wrong hotel!
No refreshing towel, no welcome drink..
Only afterwards we learnt that the lobby was still undergoing refurbishment. Fair enough but we weren’t informed. We were initially assigned a dark, tired room with aging decor, furniture and a far cry from our expectations having thoroughly enjoyed our stay at RIXOS Saadyat Island, Abu Dhabi the previous year.
The following morning having requested a room change we were pleased to have been offered a chance to upgrade to one of the new suits, with direct beach access. Night and day!
The new suites are beautiful, clean, modern and we are so relieved to have opted to change. Despite having to pay a bit extra, this completely transformed our stay.
Most staff were very polite and extremely helpful.

make our stay enjoyable.
