“Oaks on the River couldn't be more different from the chain hotels and mostly in good ways. The physical layout of rooms set in multiple buildings including two 200-year old mansions is the most obvious. Our king size bedroom felt very king-size. We arrived late in the rain and found our room with A MAP. Dining room was filled but the room service option was there. “In the room there was a huge cockroach, the room was dirty, the pillows are the size of a small cushion and the bathroom smelled like pee, there was no shampoo and the water in the shower was dripping. It doesn't matter what you pay. Breakfast does not exist and the coffee at 7am was cold.”
