“The owners were so accommodating and knowledgeable about the area. They offered us fresh picked cherries fresh from their property what a treat!! The view was spectacular and breakfast was great!! 5 Stars for sure!”
“Home was charming, welcoming and comfortable, not fancy. View was lovely. Only one restaurant (no breakfast- wonderful lunch/dinners) and one gift shop - unique). Both venues are within a very short walk.
Must pick up any groceries somewhere else. Host gave helpful suggestions. .
Host checked in with us through Expedia/Vrbo text everyday to see if we needed anything. 😃

“Overall we were dissatisfied with our stay. Although the dome was cute, we quickly ran out of propane heat and had to add another tank. Also, the next morning we ran out of water. Upon informing the manager, we did get an apology and nothing more. Safety was also a concern. There were solar powered outdoor lights that quickly went out after dark! We won’t stay here again. ”
“Not being one to complain but as four women travelling it was not a safe property. There was no no one at the gate so anyone could come in. As we drove into the property there were shacks in the area. In the 2 minutes we visited, we saw mold on the dome, 2 big holes on the bottom of dome. Ants were on the floor. The smell and heat that hit us upon opening the door was unbearable of urine and mold. The outdoor showers were a shower head and a curtain. And of course the door wouldn’t shut tight...
“Don't let the dated exterior fool you. Inside you'll find a historic space that is warm and welcoming. This is clearly not a sterile hotel without personality. This mansion has a story to tell. If you're okay with staying in an older building overlooking the S. John harbor, you'll love this place. Just know that on a warm summer's night with the windows open, there's going to be some traffic noise coming from both sides. But the fabulous breakfast in the morning will make you return to this...
“A very enjoyable stay at The Fourth Lock. It was a great location for exploring the area and has a really good restaurant on site.
We were made very welcome and Jay could not have been more helpful. There are only 3 rooms, ours had access to a balcony with a view of the lake.
