Incredible Property, Great Hosts, Amazing Stay

My wife and I stayed at this property at the end of May and had a blast. The hosts were very nice, well receiving, and communicative when we had questions. The property was in excellent condition, as described, and boasted great ammenities. The property is located about 5 minutes from the nearest supermarket (Lidi's), and 10 minutes from the downtown area of Rethimno where all the restaurants are. Super safe area. My wife and I would definitely stay here again next time we are in Crete!

Great views, very attentive owners

The property was a good size for our family of 5. The views of the Cretian sea were lovely. We weren’t able to find the tavern within walking distance so a car is essential for this property. The concierge and owners were fantastic, nothing was too much trouble and the response times were very fast. We all enjoyed the pool and it was great to have the essential household things provided. A welcome fruit basket and a lovely leaving gift we’re a lovely touch.

Lovely stay

We had a wonderful time at the villa. Couldn’t fault anything and Nicos was a great host. The position was ideal as easy reach to historical sites and the old town of Rethimno was just 15 minutes away. The only negative was that we didn’t stay long enough!!

Great property with amazing views

Had a great time at Villa Stavros. Owner there to meet us and lovely welcome pack of goodies supplied. Property was perfect for our family of 4 with 2 children. Lots of space and well equipped. Pool was great as were the outside eating areas by the pool and the balcony. Views were amazing. Would recommend a car as no where is in easy walking distance. We enjoyed a meal at Taverna Fantastiko just a 5 mins drive further up the mountain - amazing sunset view. Went to lovely Kalyvaki beach 30 mins away where we went scuba diving. Beaches and restaurants in Rethymno (15 mins drive) were good and old town was lovely to wander around. Lots of supermarkets (Lidl the closest at the bottom of the mountain). Would definitely recommend as a place to stay if you want somewhere quieter and away from it all.

Schöner Rückzugsort mit toller Aussicht

Wir sind als Familie für 9 Tage nach Kreta geflogen. Mit unserem Mietwagen war die Anreise kein Problem. Wir wurden vom Besitzer mit Obst, Süssigkeiten und Wasser begrüsst. Das Haus liegt erhöht am Hang und man hat von den Balkons eine schöne Sicht auf das Meer. Auch wenn der Pool nicht beheizt war, sind alle Kinder in den bei Nacht blau beleuchteten Pool gesprungen. Nach einer Woche wurde sogar geputzt und die Wäsche gewechselt. Der Besitzer war jederzeit ansprechbar. Wir können die Villa uneigeschränkt empfehlen.

Super Objekt

Dieses Objekt entsprach genau unseren Erwartungen. Wir haben uns von der ersten Sekunde wohl gefühlt. Der Vermieter hat alles dafür getan das wir uns wohlfühlen. Wir können dieses Ferienhaus nur weiter empfehlen. Und wir werden definitiv wieder aus dieses Objekt zugreifen sollte es uns nochmal nach Kreta ziehen.

Fantastic villa for families

We had a lovely time here, the villa had everything we needed when we arrived. We were a party of 5 adults and 1 teen and we had plenty of space. The downstairs bathroom is tiny but still useful as an extra loo! The pool is a brilliant size and immaculately clean. The cicadas and sheep bells make a lovely atmosphere! We actually managed without a car as we are wimps when it comes to driving abroad. We found a nice walk down into the town via the monastery although it’s not for the faint hearted in the August heat! It’s a 35 minute walk downhill although walking back up was a definite no no! Getting a taxi back up was easy from the local taxi rank. Having a car is definitely recommended although we were happy managing without for the 2 weeks we were there. The airport taxi firm that came recommended were excellent and charged a fair price. Nikos the owner was there every day attending to the pool and gardens and was very friendly without being intrusive. Communication was excellent with Valia when booking and was on hand throughout our stay if we needed her. Overall would definitely recommend and thanks for having us!

Perfect place for 5 adults and 2 small children. Own peace, very nice pool area, clean, good equipment, etc. We can't say anything bad word from this place. Car is necessary. We recommend.

Perfect Holiday

This was our first holiday to Crete and we couldn't have asked for a more beautiful place to stay. On arrival we were greeted by Mr Nikos. His home made wine was delicious and the tomatoes picked from the garden itself that he brought us the next day was probably the best tomatoes we have ever tasted. The Villa has fantastic views and are very clean. Our two boys (age 5 and 8) loved the pool, which was always clean and neat. The Villa is situated close to taverns, supermarkets and beaches. We enjoyed taking trips to the south of the Island, where the beaches were less crowded and it was only an hours drive away at most. We would definitely come back again. The Villa host, Valia was always at our disposal, and very friendly. We loved our stay at the Villa.

Perfect !

We had a really nice stay at Ioanna villa. The localisation is great to visit all around the town, the beach... We enjoy the garden and the swimming pool. The owner is very friendly. All were perfect.

Nice villa great pool stunning views

Very nice villa with a great pool and stunning views of the local area and sea. Some great Tavernas nearby (1 just about within walking distance) lots more within 5mins drive and town of Rythmnon 10mins drive. The property owner and property manager were always on hand if needed. If you want isolation and a peaceful holiday this will suit perfectly, the villa and pool can not be overlooked by anyone and the quiet country lane that passes the front has no traffic whatsoever. Great villa would definately come again.. only 1 minor issue, wifi was a bit hit & miss,

Schönes Haus mit toller Aussicht

Das Haus ist idyllisch gelegen mit einer tollen Aussicht aufs Meer, der kleine und malerische Ort Maroulas zu Fuss zu erreichen. Dennoch ist man natürlich auf ein Auto angewiesen. Die Einrichtung des Hauses ist vollständig, sollte dennoch etwas fehlen, hilft der Vermieter sofort. Reinigung von Haus und Pool erfolgen mehrmals in der Woche . Die Zimmer sind großzügig nur das Bad im Erdgeschoss ist zu klein dimensioniert und etwas verbaut. Wir waren mit 4 Personen dort und haben unsere Ferien sehr genossen, viel gesehen und die tolle Gastfreundlichkeit Griechenlands erfahren! Jederzeit wieder!

großzügiges Haus mit Pool und wunderbarer Aussicht

nicht ganz leicht zu finden, aufgrund der Serpentinen, ist das Haus leicht versteckt am Hang gelegen mit wunderbarer Sicht auf den Strand von Rethymnon (6 min. Fahrt). Die Ausstattung ist gut, wir hatten 3 Schlafzimmer jeweils mit Balkon, 2 Bäder und Wochnzimmer. Die Küche war gut ausgestattet, wenn auch leicht veraltet. Leichtes Manko: Wenn wir vorher eine Einkaufsliste erhalten hätten, was alles nicht da ist - Klopapier, Küchenrolle, Spülertabs - wären wir nicht 3x gerannt. Das Internet ist leider langsam und sporadisch aktiv.

Amazing

The location of the villa and views are amazing. Very tranquil gardens and wonderful pool. Only reasons I didn’t give 5 stars are another sofa would be useful in the lounge as only really enough comfy chairs for 4 people, a few more cooking utensils and trays and a raiser rail in the downstairs shower to make it slightly easier to use. We would definitely return.

Perfektes Haus, perfekte Betreuug, alles sehr unkompliziert

Wir (fünf Erwachsene) haben den Urlaub genossen. Jedes Problem wurde umgehend und völlig unaufgeregt direkt gelöst. Sowohl der wöchentlich 2malige Bettwäsche und Handtuchwechsel und die wöchentlich 2malige Reinigung des "ganzen Hauses" verlief äußerst diskret. Auch Pool und Gelände sind vorbildlich gepflegt. Wir können dieses Ferienhaus zu 100 % empfehlen

Lovely location with Panoramic Views but close to beaches, tavernas and shops

We are a party of 5 people - 2 parents an 3 "children" aged 17, 19 and 22 - and we had a lovely relaxing holiday at this villa. We arrived late in the evening but this was no problem as Google provided us with accurate directions and the owner, Mr Nikos, was waiting for us when we arrived. Mr Nikos was friendly and helpful throughout our stay without being intrusive. He brought us fresh tomatoes, cucumbers and fruit from his garden several times during our stay. This location is a good base for exploring the island being a few minutes drive from the main East-West highway on Crete, 15 minutes from Rethymno, with its lovely old town and port areas, and 30 minutes drive from the South coast, whilst being about 1 hour from both main airports. A Lidl supermarket is 7 minutes drive away, which is a good place to stock up on essentials. The villa is reasonably well equipped and comfortable.The pool and terrace area are a good size and share the same panoramic view as the villa. The pool is cleaned every couple of days and the sheets and towels changed twice a week. The villa and grounds are well maintained and the villa is clean and kept in good decorative order. Despite there being another villa next door, the villa is private and is not overlooked (except by the local flock of sheep from time-to-time!) You could walk to the local restaurants but a car is more practical. We especially liked Thavma - which happened to be the closest and is a 5-minute drive away. The food is good and the people are lovely. The local beach (which is an extension of the main Rethymno) is sandy and has plenty of space even when busy. Ask Mr Nikos for his recommendations for beaches on the South - he told us about Schinaria Beach, which we really liked. We had a lovely day there and lunch at the Garden Taverna behind the beach was excellent Valia from agency was very helpful and arranged late checkout on our final day, which helped a lot. To improve the rating to 5-star we would suggest that a few minor improvements could be made such as: chairs on the balconies to the bedrooms; a few additional items in the kitchen such as baking trays/tins, tongs (for the barbeque), more wine glasses, etc; pool towels; better wifi (it didn't work a lot of the time and it was slow - 4G mobile data is available though). Also, the downstairs shower is a little cramped. As stated, these are minor criticisms and we would go back to this villa and would recommend it to others
